Ok, so we’re trying to find a reason to buy this chair. We might take up fishing, that could definitely happen. What if we get really tired whilst walking around the Louvre, I mean that’s a possibility right? Does sitting in your garden, no tent, for like an hour constitute camping? Actually, by purchasing this very attractive folding chair we have no use for we are stimulating the economy and helping bring this catastrophic worldwide recession to an end. Dan Mitchell of Oki-Ni interviews Taichi Fujimatsu from Master-Piece (translation by Jonny Nash).

Dan: As you  know, we are big fans of Master-Piece and are really happy to be stocking the brand.  It’s been a while since we last met – about a year if I remember correctly. I guess you have been pretty busy in the last 12 months?

Fujimatsu-san: Yes, I’ve been pretty busy – spending my time working on designing our new collection, and sourcing new fabrics.

Sure – one thing that really stands out about Master-Piece for me is the great colour palettes mixed with a real nice range of multi-fabrics and materials. Are all your fabrics sourced from Japan?

Yes, all fabrics and materials are sourced from Japan.　We take our inspiration from everything around us, across all media and genres… our products are pretty much born from this.

Japan’s Master-piece makes it ways to European shore via Oki-ni. This hold-all is the prize of the bunch with its leather against the yellow canvas base. “Mustard yellow canvas hold-all with chocolate brown canvas and leather trim. This is a really simply constructed bag finished with the highest quality materials for a striking overall look. There’s a zip fastened external pocket on either side and lots of useful pockets inside. The bag’s lined with a bright orange canvas – eye popping.”

It is getting warmer and while we should be focusing on spring and summer, Opening Ceremony continues to receive stock from Japan’s Master-piece line. Known for their travel bags, this classic mountain parka is a great look for under 700$US. Should last a few seasons. The zip off sleeves are a nice bonus.
