Project LV | Spring Court for Jean Shop Sneakers

Selectism - Spring Court for Jean Shop Sneakers

Without giving away too much, here are some macro views of one of our favorite sneaker co-brands for the coming year. Working with New York’s Jean Shop, the classic shoe brand builds with indigo and natural selvedge denim. It’s sort of like teaming the already classic combination of canvas plimsoll and jean together. Well, it is exactly like that and the result is clean and simple. We’re told they’ll drop early in Japan and then land in the USA soon thereafter. Shown at Project LV.

selectism - Oyster Chair by Robert Brou

Came across Robert Brou today though a post on his Barnacle Stool on Contemporist. While the stool is lovely, I’m completely taken by the Oyster Chair. Constructed of popular, the chair features a sterling set of curves and a seat inspired by (no surprise) an oyster shell.

Brou is based in Atlanta and  has spent 14 years crafting beautiful things under the Naturalism Furniture banner.

Detailed images of the Oyster Chair follow.

Selectism - Timo Weiland Menswear Autumn 2009

R29 gives us a preview of the forthcoming Timo Weiland menswear line for Spring 2010. “Timo Weiland, who makes quirky-cool neckwear that boys and girls alike can wear, is expanding into ready-to-wear this fall with partner Alan Eckstein. Yesterday, we had the privilege of viewing his complete menswear line for fall … which was full of the staples of good dressing (blazers, light suits, trenches, tees, cardigans), amped up with a dose of the unexpected (a perforated leather jacket in delicious camel, poppy red pin-tucked shorts with bib detailing).”

dover street market menswear fall 2009 00 Dover Street Market Menswear Collection Debuts

London’s Dover Street Market has announced their inaugural menswear collection for Autumn 2009. “Comprising a well-edited collection of menswear separates, the style of this collection embodies the DSM spirit: relaxed, accessible and discreetly irreverent.” Contrasting top-stitch details match jackets and trousers while shirts display the familiar DSM logos as stencil prints or badges. There is a variety of fashions to examine in this collection. Browse a bit. The Dover Street Market Menswear collection launches on July 18th.

r29 menswear florals trend R29 on Flower Boy Fashion

R29’s Amber Troutman discusses the floral arrangements in menswear for the coming Spring. “he recent epidemic of Liberty prints in womenswear has run its course from the runways of designers like Cacharel and Marc Jacobs, down to the retail shelves of Topshop, Gap and even Nike. But with their scent still lingering in the air, even menswear lines are catching the fever.”

Our friends at Men.style get some first looks at C-Pas, a new menswear line from Etnies skateboard founder, Pierre Andre Senizergues. “All the clothes are made from organic or reused materials, including wool coats cut from old army blankets and suit linings made from old shirts donated by Senizergues’ NYC customers. For now, only clients can get the custom-made suits, but the full ready-to-wear line—including shirting, outerwear, and knits, with suits and tuxes produced by Martin Greenfield” Look for it via Colette early this summer.

Fashonisto turns us onto the Erik Hart Holiday 2008 Menswear collection. As they put it, “Staying close to their fall collection, the color palette is predominately black and gray.  The collection features a nice balance of classics and fashion forward pieces.  In addition to nice clean pieces like trousers and coats, Hart incorporates an undercurrent of trends in this collection.” The collection’s monochromatic palette is solid and approachable.

Selectism - Scoute | Boris Bidjan Saberi

“Until this fall, the name Boris Bidjan Saberi might have not rung a bell even among those who keep a close eye on mens fashion. His self titled label has still stayed under the mainstream radar, but among those who’ve come across the brand, it has generated a lot of interest and profound appreciation. Saberi has presented his collections since s/s 08 at the Barcelona fashion week, and in fall 2008 his garments started reaching stores such as L’Eclaireur in Paris and Darklands, Berlin.”
