Selectism - Mighty-Mac-spring-2012-06

This season was about the return of the Mighty Mac (sorry, we had to do it). The eagle eyed will have spotted the Porter logo on the bag above,the company teaming up with the bag brand to create their own version of the bag/coat combo that Mighty Mac specialise in. Elsewhere there’s some handsome coats (including one with a flashlight on the zip) and a footwear collaboration with french store Anatomica.

Remember when we showcased Mighty Mac a while back? (if you don’t there’s a link so you can pretend you did). Now Oi Polloi have them and we couldn’t help but post them up. We’re not sure how useful the bag actually is on your back, especially as you can’t reach the bag while it’s on your back. It’s still a nice coat though, and the shade of blue is perfect for spring. Bringing heritage brands back from the dead is nothing new (especially in these times) but there’s some folks who know how to do it right. Coming from the same stable as Rocky Mountain Featherbed, Mighty Mac is a traditional boating clothing company, who’ve been resuscitated by a Japanese company (who know a thing or two about amazing repro products). We spotted this over at Capsule, so look for it to start appearing in stores early next year.

The boat parka (complete with detachable bag) is a favourite of ours, but the whole collection’s worthy of a look – which you’ll be able to do after the leap.
