Maharishi brings back their blues for Autumn/Winter 2012, in a collection that is sure to get people talking again about the U.K. based maker who does mil-spec inspirational clothing better than most. For those that have passed on Maharishi in recent season, we strongly urge you take a fresh look (and it goes beyond their camo).

In some regards, the collection may be seen as over-engineered, with garments that serve a multitude of functions including a pull-over weather proof coat that converts into a bag when zipped (photos do not do it justice), as well as bombers that go well beyond their design specs. But that is what will keep Maharishi garments around for as long as the classics that inspire them. This stuff is built for the end of the world. Think we’re excited? Workers return with a new selection of goods. The Japanese company holds a place in our hearts with its no-nonsense approach to repros. This time round they are offered two shawl collared deck jackets, one in pinstripe, one in brown herringbone; USN shirts in chambray and khaki green; a 70z cotton tool bag, and two selvedge ties. Everything is made to order, inspired by the original as well as the wealth of knowledge accrued by the label.

A simple take on the classic face of the military watch scene. The package is a decent one: comes with both a leather and nylon band. Wear whichever suits your needs. No one said you needed to stick with one band. Nice to see this done in a black rather than mil-green face. Wise Ark has it.

Luxist points us at this new G-Wagon from Mercedes-Benz that was unveiled at “Eurosatory Defense Exposition 2010″ – a clearly not so ordinary conference as you can tell based on the vehicle. “The G-Wagon LAPV 6.X Concept is the latest armored military version of the legendary sport-ute. Its common-rail diesel engine can propel it, along with all the armor plating and 2,866 lbs of cargo, up to a top speed of 150 kilometers per hour.
