Watch | Mister Freedom – L’hirondelle du Faubourg

http://www.vimeo.com/32870639

Mister Freedom revisits Paris of the 1900s with this nice little video showcasing pieces from their current collection.  Comedic fisticuffs and suspicious lurking, the Apaches may cut ya as soon as look at ya but there’ll do it dressed in their finest. As ever, MF have really done their homework when it comes  to this collection, repros can be serious business but it’s nice to see a brand willing to keep things a bit light-hearted.

Mister Freedom Boro Scarf

MF Boro Tie 01 Mister Freedom Boro Scarf

Mister Freedom has knocked up some excellent scarves using much sought after Boro textiles. This traditional Japanese patchwork indigo fabric is the holy grail for anyone who enjoys watching blue fade. As Mr Loiron describes; ‘The fabrics are assorted, ranging from circa 1850′s~1930′s, and selected from our textile archives. Home spun, cotton, hemp, natural indigo, katazome prints, plaids, solids…’ Each piece is individual and very much limited (there’s only so much antique folk fabric scraps to go round y’know) each with its own leather ring slider to keep it in place. Track yours down here.

mrfreedom chinos 01 Mister Freedom Shipyard Chinos

Some more ‘American Sportswear’ goodness from Mister Freedom. Staggering the release of the collection for our own safety, these Shipyard Chinos are somewhere between USN and work trousers, with a touch of Sugar Cane Co. magic. Regular fit with the usual details such as back buckle, japanese woven cotton twill, donut buttons and copper rivets. Mr Loiron models them in khaki, brown and navy also available.

Mister Freedom Indigo Henley

30 September 2011, 14.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Mister Freedom Indigo Henley

Mr Freedom like to keep things real. Not happy with just ‘dyeing things blue’, they’re now in possession of their very own Indigo vat. Now able to achieve varying levels of colouration, over dying and all manner of interesting and irregular results, their first guinea pig are these beautiful Swiss military Henley’s. All hand dyed and date stamped, the great thing about this old world process is the amazing fade that will result from wearing and washing.

Mister Freedom Chemise Calico

30 August 2011, 13.00 | Posted in Fashion | No comments »

Mister Freedom Chemise Calico

It’s hard not to wax lyrical about Mr. Freedom. Collection after collection they just seem to get it right. From the incredible fabrics to the depth of knowledge apparent in each garment, it’s no wonder the label has reached cult status. This Calico shirt embodies everything good about the L.A brand. Part of the ‘Apache’ collection and in collaboration with Sugar Cane, the print was exclusively developed and produced in Japan and the shirt features ‘French 1900′s-1930′s New/Old Stock glass buttons’ and a host of other features too numerous to list here. All we know is this is an absolute winner and possibly a future classic.

Selectism - mister-freedom-boating-jersey-01

We’re tired of the debating the masculinity of products here. We know that guys can get worried when they see a boatneck but it’s historically one of the most masculine neck shapes known to man. Wear this with other clothes for a great look. (Superdenim)

Mister Freedom, Palladium "Palladenim" Boots

Something new from the Palladium line with the help of Mister Freedom. Their combo “Palladenim” book is based on the 50’s government issue jungle boot from France. “Using the traditional Palladium last, sole and panel pattern, the Palladenim upper is vintage 12 oz. raw selvedge indigo denim, loomed in the USA and sourced directly from Mister Freedom’s extensive archive of vintage ‘New Old Stock’ textiles.  The lining is a vintage 100% cotton stripe twill, also from Mister Freedom’s archives.” Find them at select retailers globally and online.

Mister Freedom Midnight Chiller Vest

Selectism - mister-freedom-vest-01

It’s getting really cold out in these parts which means it’s time to get serious about this wrapping up warm business. A vest like this is always a good addition to your arsenal and it’d look good underneath a big jacket and on top of a (relatively) thin knit. (Superdenim)

Song remains the same, take a leap to see those shots.
