Jil Sander has teamed up with LG Electronics to deliver their first mobile phone running the Windows 7 platform. As they mention in their press release Jil Sander “want[s] to get closer to our customers by creating this mobile device which incorporates the unique JIL SANDER DNA both inside and outside.” We have to admit, the phone design looks great with clean lines and textures. It comes bundled with a new Jil Sander shopping/experience app. The phone will be made available in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, and UK.

Core77 previews an exceptional mobile design for the Japanese market “Tokujin Yoshioka … has designed the X-RAY phone for handset manufacturer KDDI’s designer label iida. Like those see-through phones from childhood, but better, because in their extreme miniaturization, cell phones have many hundreds more tiny micro circuits to gape at. At first, it was hard to tell how this works from the press photos, but after poking around on the iida site, we realized that it’s a flip phone, not some insanely sophisticated all-clad see through touch screen.”

The new mobile phone from watchmaker Ulysse Nardin is quickly making the rounds from watch blogs to the tech blogs. It’s an interesting concept in mobile devices and those looking for a “hybrid” device, should explore this. From Time Zone news:

It will incorporate a Ulysse Nardin designed kinetic rotor system which is blended into the mechanical and aesthetical design of the smart phone. This smart-phone is hand-assembled under the strictest guidelines mandated by Ulysse Nardin.”

“The Chairman” is rumored to work on all mobile networks and will be shown at Baselworld.

The first time Bang & Olufsen teamed up on a mobile phone early last year and the outcome was a bit disappointing we thought when it was released.
