Di Mella Mocassins

When our Berlin editors love a product, they’re usually on point. The above “blazing orange” mocs from Di Mella, not only help the world track you through any environment but also provide a pleasant ride while you wear them. The driving sole keeps it all nice and comfortable for you. (zozo)

United Arrows Camo Mocassins

These work. Japan’s United Arrows delivers some Italo-made driving mocassins for the masses. I would prefer to wear these than the normal stash found in the U.S.A. Whatever the hell we have to do to bring these Stateside… please. (zozo)

Monitaly Suede Moccasins

Here’s a series of suede mocassins from the Monitaly line. The color and stitching on these is what sets them apart from the usual pack. Available in beige, light blue, and navy blue, the Monitaly mocs work well for the guy looking to get into a soft pair of ancient shoes that carry them in a shoe form that predates heritage. Bang on. Zozo has them.

J. Crew Mocassin Slippers

J. Crew Mocassin Slippers

I’m putting this one out there as everyman should have a fine pair of Winter house shoes. While the J. Crew version looks to be sold out online, we’re hoping you can find it in stores. The other option, which I stand behind, is the UGGS “Byron” slippers (at about double the price). Laugh all you want – until you fall in love with shearling mocs. “Suede upper with leather trim and rawhide laces. Classic rubber driving-moc sole.”

Timberland for Opening Ceremony Moccasin Boot

selectism - timberland-moccasin-boot-01

Opening Ceremony have been going hard on the workwear front this season, much to some peeps chagrin. The main knock against OC is that they’re just trend hopping hipsters. True or not, while they’re ordering in boots like these, we really couldn’t care about OC’s intentions.

Like most collaborations these days, this is actually a custom order of an existing model (which we featured back in July) as opposed to a true collaboration – although that term is becoming more diluted by the day. Bitching aside, these are great boots; perfect for adverse weather and much slimmer than the 6 inch boot – which makes it an easier job to fit with some tapered denim/cords/chinos. (Opening Ceremony)

Detailed shots after that leap.

Arrow Moccasin Company

selectism - Arrow Moccasin Company

The Arrow Mocassin Company of Hudson, MA is in my backyard but like all things good and quality Arrow lays low. When your  handmade moccasins are as good as this, then why bother? Luckily for us Valet did a nice spot on the Arrow Lace Boot. "They’re warm, they’re classic, and they’ve been hand-stiched in Massachusetts from Englishtanned Swiss leather for five decades. The standard model is unlined, but for a few extra bucks you can have them lined with plush sheepskin." But they’re collection also includes a variety of other models, all for that matter, sell for under 200$US. Now, their website is old school with its Web 1.0 feel but being modern is not what Arrow is about. When you make a shoe this cool, you may as well stay lo-fi and focus on the build. Loving the Bush Boot.
