Moscot for BLK DNM Sunglasses

BLK DNM, the new line from Johan Lindeberg, is already at it with an exception collaboration with New York’s Moscot eyewear line. Launched today, the Moscot x BLK DNM Sunglass collection features three frames shapes that run the classic square to a chunkier look. Moscot uses the highest quality parts including five-barrel hinges and their “signature” metal inserts along the temples. Flimsy they are not. Well built and available now from BLK DMN.

Selectism - MOSCOT Autumn 2010 Eyeglass Frame Preview

MOSCOT sent over a preview of what they have in store for the latter half of 2010. “The six new styles – like the rest of the [Spirit] Collection – leverage the company’s 95 years of expertise in eyewear, sensibility and downtown New York City heritage, reinterpreting classic design elements from the MOSCOT Originals Collection for a slightly more progressive, modern look. Each frame is constructed from a combination of metal and the finest Italian acetate – made by the fourth generation Mazzuchelli family – and feature the company’s new branded “M” on the temple tips.” The full 20 frame “Spirit Collection” will be showcased at SILMO Paris in September.

The six style shown here are available now online and in MOSCOT shops.

Moscot ‘Yukel’ Sunglasses

Selectism - moscot-yurkel-sunglasses-04

Despite all Moscot’s history, Rayban’s are still the most popular name in the sunglasses game. We’re not sure exactly who’s to blame for this, but Moscot’s Clubmaster ‘Yukel’ shades are a great alternative for anyone who’s tiring of Raybans. They cost a bit more, but that’s the price you pay for originality (and great craftsmanship). (studiohomme)

Selectism - MOSCOT "Titanium Second Edition" Frames Spring/Summer 2010

Following up on their first edition titanium eyewear, NYC’s own MOSCOT delivers their Zelig, Nebb, Miltzen, and Lemtosh in a second issue featuring the super light metal. “The German-made, Second Edition Titanium frames are constructed in two parts – the fronts, made of pure titanium and nickel-free, are strong, sturdy and hypoallergenic, and the frame temples, which are made of beta-titanium, a softer, more pliant material that can be easily adjusted for the perfect fit.” Well done as usual from MOSCOT. The grey tortoise temple tips are shown above.

Selectism - MOSCOT Theroux Eyeglasses

An unique look to the black rim look fromMOSCOT. “Named for our friend and long time MOSCOT customer, actor Justin Theroux, this frame is our boldest frame ever — not for the timid! Based on a vintage French frame from the 1960’s that Justin wore for the film, Mulholland Drive, these frames are an exact replica – right down to its extra thick temples, uniquely shaped hardware, hinge plate, five-barrel hinge, bridge and end piece.  Available in Black only – like a downtown New Yorker would be seen in anything else!”

moscot titanium series fall 2009 04 MOSCOT Titanium Autumn/Winter 2009

New York’s own, MOSCOT releases their latest collection. The MOSCOT Titanium series take their famous original styles like the Nebb, Lemtosh, and Miltzen and gives them the metallic treatment. The super lightweight frames marry old school and timeless styles with modern metals for a modern finish. The translation works and should appeal to a wide range of eyeglass wearers who may be ready for a break from the plastic frame establishment.

When you have a god thing going, you simply update the color way. Moscot give two of their most popular frames – The Nebb and the Lemtosh the treatment in “Brown Crystal Fade” for the season. The classic frames “compliment any face as they fade from brown.” We like. (secret forts)
