Jacket Required Pt1 10 Jacket Required – Snapshots – Part.1

Following on from our preview chat with its founders, we made our way to  Jacket Required this week, with Victoria House in Bloomsbury playing host. Part 2, The Return, The Sequel, The Arthur 2 : On the Rocks of menswear if you will, its second outing was a sizeable affair in comparison to its debut, with more brands then you can shake a King of Clubs umbrella at. We got a little snap happy so we present to you the first of two servings of Jacket Required Autumn/Winter 2012.

Featuring: London Undercover, Denim Demon, Ma.Strum, Anerkjendt, Brutus, One Nine Zero Six, Filson, Maiden Noir, Brooks, Universal Works, Mark McNairy, Mr Start and Carhartt.

You want a Shoreditchian (in a good way) suit? Go to Mr Start. It’s the place to go if you want to wear a better suit but aren’t quite ready for the bespoke stuff. They’ve just released this spring/summer lookbook, which handily shows how a super cool guy like yourself would wear such a suit. Apologies for the lack of appropriate slang in that last sentence, we’re just not hip anymore.

Didn’t we say this was the year of the relaunch? Start have joined the crew, relaunching their site last week. Apart from all the usual guff (new layout, etc etc) there’s also a whole host of new Mr. Start branded products that have hit the site. Having previously dabbled in suits, shirts and ties, the line branches out to knitted hats, leather gloves and bags. Although this is labelled as a Mr. Start holdall, closer inspection will show that it’s made by Calabrese (we’ll assume it’s a collaboration). Either way, it’s a pretty segsy bag. (Start)
