Mulberry Medium Clipper Holdall Bag

A beautiful new large size travel bag has released from English brand Mulberry. The Medium Clipper Holdall Bag comes with a black leather scotch grain upper, brown leather details and mixed canvas/leather straps. We love the elegance of the bag, while still having an overall sporty appearance. You know when you see some guy walking around with that totally over the top Gucci weekender? Well, this is a great alternative – quality and understated, just how we like it. Mr. Porter has it in stock now.

There’s been a growing amount of faux leather holdalls making their way onto the market lately. It’s not a movement we can get behind, as faux leather looks and feels terrible in comparison to the real thing. These Mulberry holdalls use heavy grain leather which ages with wear, leaving a bag that looks better the more you use it. It’s also the perfect size for any airport hand luggage restrictions. Get it from Mulberry.

The guys over at Wrapper UK have take what looks to be vintage Mulberry wools – more than likely reclaimed from Mulberry jackets – and turned them into some simple and effect iPhone and iPod Touch sleeves.  Wrappers adds in a fine navy cotton canvas lining to make it close to waterpoof. Five colorways are available now online.

selectism - Mulberry Fall/Winter 2008 Bags

About 5 years ago I bought my first Mulberry leather agenda and to date I still use it every day and cannot imagine using anything else. But at the time, an agenda was also the only thing I wanted from Mulberry.

In the meantime the brand has evolved and offers a womens collection, mens collection, as well as a large accessories collection. Today I took a look at some upcoming styles of the brand and I was pleasantly surprised.

Especially the distressed tote bags of the Fall/Winter 2008 collection look great. In case you pass by one of their flagships, make sure to go in and also have a look at the ready-to-wear collection, because that is looking pretty good too.

selectism - Mulberry Collaborates With Fred Gallery

To mark this years start of the Frieze Art Fair, UK label Mulberry has teamed  up with Fred Gallery and some of their artists to create limited edition versions of some of their bags.

"Philip Jones, Peter Jones, Kate Davis, Simon English and Paul Hosking are the artists taking part, having been commissioned by Mulberry to create unique prints for its Calder tote. The latest of a raft of artist/ bag collaborations we’ve seen over the past few years from the big accessory houses, limited-edition versions of these bags will be available from the flagship space. It’s not the first time Mulberry has teamed up with an artist – they collaborated with fashion illustrator Julie Verhoeven for A/W 07 – but this time work will be exhibited alongside the products on sale." Via D&C.

The collaboration will begin in September and carry on through October to coincide with the Frieze Art Fair in Regent’s Park.
