Spanning hi-top silhouettes to leather strapped boots, the Neil Barrett collection offers the detail oriented of consumers options to make their overall daywear unique. Trendland gives an overview of the Spring/Summer 2010 offering from Neil Barrett. “The elongated silhouettes and color and fabric contrasts were a great step in a new direction for him. Double breasted finely tailored jackets and two-column plackets on the shirts give his man a sleek and very fashion forward look, without making him an eye soar. Keeping in the black, white, and gray palette made all the detailing pop.”

Here’s a banger from Neil Barrett’s Spring/Summer 09 footwear collection (which we covered a while back). This dove grey leather baseball high-top is finished in suede leather with patent leather accents and sole. The lacelocks pull from the outdoor boot with clip in fasteners. They’re made in Italy and are one of my favorite high-tops of the season. Well done. (forward)

In case you hadn’t noticed, Chambray’s pretty popular right now. We’ve seen every style you could think of – from shawl collars to see through patterns – but sometimes less is more. This Neil Barrett chambray (The one man denim encylopaedia that is Kiya tells us below that isn’t chambray, we had our suspicions – but this confirms it) shirt isn’t as over embellished as other versions out there but there’s a lot to be said for its simplicity. We don’t mind short sleeved shirts, but we do advise that you roll up the sleeves to maintain your cool. Get it from Start.

Trouser shorts work under a variety of conditions, including: weddings in Bermuda and urban strolls in the summer. Unlike casual shorts, short trousers are made from fine materials as found in suits, like these two specimens from Neil Barrett. Both are made in Italy by the finest of tailors. They’re available now from Luisaviaroma (try pronouncing that).

Neil Barrett’s SS09 footwear collection has dropped in stores and there looks to be something for everyone (provided you like standing out from the crowd). The shoes in the collection are an electric blue pair of oxfords and a pair of laceless two tones (pictured after the jump). The grey trainers look like a pair of Common Projects at first glance, although a closer inspection shows that there’s studs next to the laceholes, perfect for anyone who’s been inspired by Prada’s AW09 showing.

Another winter option. This time in leather from Neil Barrett. This Glossy Leather Jacket features a sheepskin collar with a double breast front finish. Neil Barrett as well as six other designers including Rick Owens, Costume National, have come together to deisgn a set of six one of a kind designer outfits to help benefit UNICEF. All six outfits are available exclusively through 20ltd. "Designed as part of Lane Crawford’s innovative design project ‘The Collective: Synergy in Fashion’, celebrating the Beijing 2008 Olympics. 100% of the proceeds will go to “Special Relief Funds for Children affected by the Sichuan Earthquake” established by UNICEF under its ‘Driving Dreams’ project."

Neil Barrett, the English born, Italian living designer (who was also recently featured in a spread in GQ), has just opened a new store front in the Minami-Aoyama district of Tokyo. The Barrett store was designed by Zaha Hadid, who’s architectural works are gaining major praise these days with prominent commissions across the globe (Zaha Hadid herself was the first female recipient of the Pritzker Architecture Prize).
