Filmmaker Alex Prager and model Lara Stone get involved in the latest Mercedes-Benz brand video for the SL Roadster. Part of the German automaker’s Autumn/Winter 2012 “Icons of Style” campaign, the film puts model, Stone into a whirlwind ala Mary Poppins.

The ever consistent NOWNESS delivers another outstanding premiere with a look at the animation of Canadian artist, Shayne Ehman for Freemans Sporting Club’s Spring 2012 ready-to-wear suiting collection. Less of a brand video and more of a story told through some rather spaced-out cast of characters, the video highlights a suitcase filled with the brand’s collection. Louis Vuitton’s New Timekeeper on Nowness.com.

Nowness gives a nice behind the scenes look at the French luxury brand’s business in watch making, which they take like all things, very serious.

“Louis Vuitton unveils the inner workings of its new 18-karat white gold timepiece, the Tambour Minute Repeater, a collaboration with Swiss master horologists La Fabrique du Temps. True to the brand’s renown for handcrafted luxury travel accessories, Louis Vuitton’s Tambour employs complex mechanics to display one time while being able, upon request, to chime an alternative ‘home’ time.”

NOWNESS with the help of filmmakers Jamie Delaney and Keith Nally, profile one of the last surviving weaving mills, Molloy & Sons in Based in County Donegal, Ireland. The business, family run more than six generations, is now under the guiding hand of father and son team, Sean and Kieran Molloy who continue to produce some of the finest tweed around.

Nowness visited filmmaker, Pedro Almodóvar, in a New York City hotel room for a discussion of “femininity and beauty in light of his current macabre pulp fiction movie, ‘The Skin I Live In.’” Talking to fellow filmmaker, Alison Chernick, Almodóvar connects the strong women in his films with the inspirations of his past inclyding Bette Davis and Katharine Hepburn. Almodóvar is known for classic Spanish titles including 1990’s “Tie Me up, tie me Down,” “All About My Mother” and the jarring “Talk to her.”

Bill Reid brings NOWNESS down to Alabama for a look inside his annual “shindig.” Expect food, music, and hospitality like no where else on this planet. “Billy Reid’s annual Shindig lures luminaries of fashion, gastronomy and entertainment to the designer’s hometown of Florence, Alabama, for a celebratory weekend steeped in down-home charm. The CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund-winner invited lanky Delta blues troubadour Justin Townes Earle to headline the third-anniversary lineup.”

Nowness works over a look inside one of the world’s most famous restaurants in Spain. “Photographer and filmmaker Marcus Gaab gained exclusive access to the kitchen, documenting the magic that goes into a typical 47-course meal. Gaab trailed head chef Ferran Adrià and his 70-strong staff as they meticulously constructed everything from gorgonzola balls (a frozen sphere of the cheese with a soft center) to chocolate coral (strawberry-powder-dusted warm chocolate molded in the shape of sea coral).”

NOWNESS goes behind the scenes with Scott Sternberg preparing his Florence show, inspired by “West Side Story.” NOWNESS trailed the designer before and after the show, which featured 46 dancers and models sashaying to Leonard Bernstein’s iconic score while outfitted in the brand’s eponymous line of preppy menswear for spring/summer 2012, as well as the tomboy-inspired womenswear range Boy and its offshoot Girl.”
