The Nudie Wes Melton shirt has been inspired by a Nordic sailor work shirt, made from tightly bound Melton Wool, as the name may suggest. The shirt is lined with cotton poplin and features cuff, pocket flap and collar accents in light blue chambray, demonstrating Nudie’s developing eye for detail outside their core denim interests. The simplicity of the piece nods toward a much-observed sense of maturity currently associated with the Swedish brand, a feeling bolstered by such releases that have recently felt less linked to trend, and more so driven by functionality. -jr

Following the meat-marker theme, NUDIE Jeans works with DELI in Seattle on a “pop-up” for the Northwest U.S. market. The minimalist build out is “dominated with concrete flooring, typical hanging chains, and utilitarian stainless steel tables serving as counters. The industrial space is complimented by work of emerging Seattle artist Justin Kane Elder and a back mural by Frankie Juarez.” Nicely done. Love the paint “blood” dripping down the drain. Very meat-market. To some a turn-off, though.

We’re growing increasingly infatuated with hats around here. Ever since the hat look has died down for every wannabe indie boy, we’ve been willing to give hats a second look (stonewash denim jackets and tight black jeans are the new porkpie, in case you’re wondering). Now we have the slightly indie-ish Nudie releasing this rather fetching hat for SS10. Now you’ve seen the new look, wear it right: none of this hanging it off your head business.

Here’s a little snippet from Nudie’s SS10 collection. Nudie’s been making decent outerwear pieces for a while but this is the first bag we’ve seen from them. We haven’t seen this in person yet, but we’d guess that it’s overnight bag size as opposed to a weekender. The outside zip is a nice touch as well, making sure you won’t have to spend your time fumbling inside your bag for your camera, keys or phone. Available in Nudie stockists from January.
