Selectism - Bally Men's 2009 Winter Collection

Openers Japan provides looks at the Bally men’s Winter 2009 collection. The new season is based on soothing colors of grey, green, and black tones which are all work when layered together. Motorcross styled pants are mixed in with cardigans and some very fine footwear. We happen to love the patent leather military inspired boots.

More looks at the Bally Men’s 2009 Winter Collection after the jump.

Openers Japan continues their designer showcases with Margaret Howell’s collection for Autumn/Winter 2008. Ms. Howell harself pens a great essay on her “Design Philosophy.”

I consider myself as a designer who designs clothes as compared to the definition ‘Fashion Designer’. I believe a Fashion Designer begins with a concept for a show to convey a statement or story whereas I design a one off product, which is function led and designed for retail. The clothes do encompass an element of current trend but largely it is one’s own style that remains constant.”

The Openers piece also includes a video interview with Ms. Howell entitled, WHITE SHIRT as well as a walkthrough of her Autumn/Winter 2008 collection and special edition works.

Selectism - Openers | History of Mackintosh

Japanese lifestyle magazine, Openers, has an on-going four part series on the history of Mackintosh, the Scottish company famous for their rubberized raincoats.  Be forewarned: the articles are in Japanese but  a good online translator can alleviate that issue. Part One works on the history, with collection previews for the Fall/Winter 2008/2009 coming shortly.
