The O.C have been on a roll on the collab front, teaming up with the likes of Timberland, Billykirk and (obviously) Pendleton. This particular piece isn’t ‘new’ in the blog sense of the word (meaning it didn’t come out five minutes ago) – but we’re still fans. The elbow patches are what drew us in; they work here without giving off vibes of  ‘geography teacher’. As checks are so ubiquitous these days, we’d either wear this check on check or clash those patterns. Basically anything that isn’t the usual plain shirt-check cardy combo. (Oki-Ni)

They have dropped. Opening Ceremony keeps rolling with the collaborations – this time we get some work with Timberland. Two models get the work through and are available now as part of a two day special pre-order. “For this limited capsule collection, we customized two different signature Timberland styles. The first is a spin on Timberland’s familiar 6-Inch Boot featuring an unexpected and sporty elastic lacing. These Convenience Boots come with two sets of interchangeable laces: one version matching the boot, and a second neon version.”

Billykirk is busy these days. Just about everyone is recognizing that when you want to create a signature look for your totes or leather goods, you may as well hit these fine gents on the East Coast. Their latest is a series of carryalls with Opening Ceremony. We happen to dig the No. 166 Carryall. “Using vegetable dye that lends to beautiful natural aging of their products. this bag features a waxed cloth body with a leather bottom, leather handles, zip, and removable strap, as well as a removable leather identification tag. available in navy/red and tan/lt blue.”

We know the standard protocol in the blogosphere is to never rag on collaborations, but they’ve been pretty bad lately. We’re talking to you, APC and Supreme. We were ready to crown this OC collab the worst of them all, but then we saw this parka. It’s not amazing, but it looks like something we’d wear, which is more than you can say for the rest of the collection. Our main advice on this piece? Wait for the January sale. (Opening Ceremony)

We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again; if you’re doing the chambray and denim look, chances are you look a little bit boring. While there’s nothing wrong with being perfectly boring, it’s always nice to have a piece that gets attention. Let’s be honest – that’s the reason you started taking an interest in your clothes in the first place. And this piece is the perfect to attract the good sort of attention.
