“You’ll be the life of the party in our men’s lively cotton twill pants,” say the folks at Orvis. We agree, these pants are pretty amazing. Lightweight twill with all-over print (no BAPE), the trousers are built for long lasting wear and comfort, and designed for crashing beach weddings from Bar Harbor to Charleston.

Available in navy or red.

Orvis Limited Edition Hawaiian Shirt

02 April 2011, 16.00 | Posted in Fashion | 1 comment »

Orvis Limited Edition Hawaiian Shirt

The “Aloha Shirt” or “Hawaiian Shirt” was created in downtown Honolulu in the early 1920s. The young teens from Hawaii would buy “kabe crepe” material from the dry goods stores and bring them back to their mothers to sew. Soon after the trend spawned across the islands of Hawaii and Guam, tourists and military men had to have an “aloha shirt.” Today, many contemporary menswear designers still use Hawaiian shirt inspired fabrics to create garments with more modern styling. Orvis releases their new “Limited-Edition” Hawaiian shirt but uses their love for fishing in the print and style. The best detail is the “coconut-shell buttons.” The shirt comes in four prints. “Ventile, a cotton fabric that runs the gauntlet of briars and thorns without a snag, yet can efficiently transport moisture vapor away from your body to keep you cool.” Orvis’ takes their version and implements all new details. Bar-tacked stress points, double stitched seams, 8 pockets and it’s waterproof. A great shell to have when you’re tired of wearing the same mountain parka everyday when it rains. The coat is available in khaki at Orvis.

Orvis “U.S. Patent” Collection for Autumn 2010

Selectism - Orvis "U.S. Patent" Collection for Autumn 2010

The Orvis “U.S. Patent” collection is one hell of a collaborative effort. “U.S. Patent” is more than a sub-collection for the Orvis brand. It is a massive collaborative collection with works by Stronghold, Gitman Bros., Rand, Taylor Supply, Grown & Sewn, Hardwick, and a many others for Orvis. It’s a (almost exhausting) laundry list of the best that “Made in the U.S.A.” has to offer . I stopped counting individual goods at 40. From cowboy hats, vest, and socks, to belts, fishing poles, and jackets. This is such a heavy collection that we’ll need to spread it across posts. More to come… The “U.S. Patent” collection should hit store mid-August.

Some first looks (of many) at the Orvis “U.S. Patent” Collection for Autumn 2010 after the click.
