A quick preview of what the runway models at Richard Chai’s Autumn/Winter 2012 show will be shuffling in. Chai worked with Palladium Boots, who have outfitted the likes of Neil Barrett runways in the past. Richard Chai chose two Palladium boots, the Pampa Hi and the Pampa Tactical to layer his own custom fabrics on, including corduroy and felted wool, which pull from classic suiting elements. While the Palladium boots will be exclusive to Chai’s runway show, the looks will eventually be offered through boutique. Keep an eye out.

Neil Barrett and Palladium present their second series of collaborative boots for Autumn 2011. Two new colorways are available now in the Palladium Pampa boot: black/white and olive/white. The premium boots are made from “aniline leather” and accented with nubuck. Australian wool is used on the collar for extra warmth.

Palladium delivers “plaid” takes on their military boots as part of their Autumn 2011 collection. The plaid series is made up from “100% cotton plaid upper and Pallama leather along with the classic Palladium rubber outsole.”  Look for them in July.

Taking the exclusive “black card” market to new heights, J.P. Morgan comes forward with their “Palladium.” A new bar is set, literally, as each card is “minted out of palladium and 23k gold and laser engraved with the cardholder special details.” Some place the value on the card alone at over $1000 based on mineral pricing alone.

The J.P. Morgan Palladium VISA comes with a 57 page benefits book that covers it all. The obvious amenities at airports, concierge, insurance, roadside, priority pass are all there. Something new from the Palladium line with the help of Mister Freedom. Their combo “Palladenim” book is based on the 50’s government issue jungle boot from France. “Using the traditional Palladium last, sole and panel pattern, the Palladenim upper is vintage 12 oz. raw selvedge indigo denim, loomed in the USA and sourced directly from Mister Freedom’s extensive archive of vintage ‘New Old Stock’ textiles.  The lining is a vintage 100% cotton stripe twill, also from Mister Freedom’s archives.” Find them at select retailers globally and online.

Palladium have cracked the secret of the summer boot. The classic Palladium boot (heavily covered around these parts already) will be converted next Spring to a light Summer model. How? With the switch to a full EVA outsole, which forms the base a ripstop nylon upper lined in moisture wicking dri-lex (and given a seersucker look) sits atop. The whole weighs 10.2 oz.

Pretty impressive.

Neil Barret worked over the Palladium Pampa Baggy Boot (in black) for his Milan show back in January. Recently, the black colorway showed its face again during the fashion fairs. Today, they get their official release. Along with the black colorway, the Palladium by Neil Barrett boot drops in a “dust” color that is produced in “low nap Nubuck leather with a velvet like feel.”

Palladium kicks our a Spring/Summer friendly boot that breathes with you in the heat. “The new Enzyme Washed collection uses a special washing process, which accelerates the visual fading and weathering of the canvas to give the boot an authentic vintage look and feel. Palladium’s use of canvas dates back to the 1940’s when soldiers of the French Foreign Legion wore the boots as a way to stay cool in the deserts of North Africa. The natural breathability of canvas was preferred over the more traditional leather boots.”

Palladium re-enters the UK market with an inventive “expedition” celebrating the traditions of pirate radio. Beginning in the 1960s, decaying anti-aircraft became the hubs of original pirate radio scene. The structures remain on the River Thames, provide a locale for Palladium’s investigation of the scene – which remains vibrant atop inner city tower blocks all around the UK.
