Paraboot for Omnigod Chambord Shoe

Paraboot for Omnigod Chambord Shoe

Japanese label Omnigod continue to churn out covetable items with such consistency that we wonder if they have access to some sort of magic bottomless style well and/or have made a pact with Satan. Either way we find ourselves impressed with just about every element of their collection. Take these shoes for example, a collaboration with Paraboot, a French company who have been making walking footwear for nearly a century. The kind of moc toe, goodyear welted goodness we can get on board with. This smarter take on the workboot/shoe hybrid is a thing of beauty.

Paraboot Sanary Shoes

Paraboot Sanary Shoes

This was a common shoe choice during my stint in Catholic school. Why? I have no idea. I tended to go with the easy wear Eastlands. All the cool kids would have on a pair of suedes, unless of course your mom and dad were smart enough to know that any 12 year old in a pair of suede shoes was a sure sign of trouble. I moved onto Dr. Martens, which made me a bad plus. Paraboot’s French made Sanary shoe should work for most. CHCM has them.

Paraboot for United Arrows Double Monk Shoes

Selectism - paraboot-united-arrows-double-monk-01

Apparently the world’s designers won’t rest until we’re all wearing double monkstrap shoes. This time United Arrows have done the monkey stuff, putting them on top of some vibram soles. They’ve teamed up with Paraboot for some made in France shoes and we kinda like ‘em. If nothing else, at least the soles aren’t wedge ones. (Houyhnhnm)

Selectism - Paraboot for SHIPS Tassel Slip On Loafer Shoes

A fine pair of suede loafers from Paraboot for Japan’s SHIP chain. The tassels are the distinct feature on these shoes which also include a white nonslip sole and white detailed stitching that finish these shoes off in a very classic sense. They’re very to the point and look great. Zozo via proxy outside of Japan, please.

Paraboot ‘Thames’ Chukka Boot

13 January 2010, 14.30 | Posted in Shoes | 1 comment »

selectism - paraboot-chukka-boot-01

While the ‘Michael’ shoe might be Paraboots most popular model, their ‘Thames’ chukka boot is no slouch either. The main difference between this and other old school chukkas is the sleekness of the sole, which is cut incredibly close to the body of the shoe – therefore avoiding the clown factor associated with clunkier soles. The details fanatics will be glad to know that Paraboot are known for their French manufacturing and quality. At £225 it’s not cheap, but these are worth the coins. (Edwards)

paraboot malibu moccasin 00 Paraboot Malibu Moccasins

Paraboot moves the moccasin boot down to a low top which deserves a look for those in need of something other than a traditional deck shoe. The “Malibu’ shoe is finished in a taupe leather with a classic white non-slip sole. Throw on some thick leather laces and you have a proper shoe for rocking along side your denim or khakis. (chcm)
