Passarella give us a taste of their Unisex line, Kempes. As ever with PSD it’s all about tee design, strong graphics on quality fabrics has been their mainstay for a while now and this new line continues that tradition. “Kempes by Passarella Death Squad is a new label for the U.S. market. Made in America from fine American fabric. Monochrome streetwear for the underground.” Hit the site for more.
Translucent? See-through? Diaphanous?* Whatever you want to call it, this is Passarella’s newest jacket. Inspired by the jacket worn by ‘Rep’ in Blade Runner, it’s made in Italy and available for SS12.. It’s exactly the sort of thing you’d wear when you’re in a hellish view of the near future, giving someone the almighty runaround. Or down the pub on a rainy day. One of the two.
Passarella Death Squad have just sent over some looks from their autumn/winter 2011 collection. Sadly, they haven’t moved into neapolitan tailoring but they do make some great t-shirts and varsity jackets. Taking inspiration from old-school video games, it’s the sort of thing we can get behind. And we don’t mean Tekken 2 either, youngsters – we’re talking proper 8-bit inspiration here. There’s also been an update to our favourite piece of the collection, the stadium jacket.
Hop, skip and jump over some mushrooms to see more.
Here’s a look at PDS’s new collection, which gets it on like Donkey Kong (geddit?). They’ve added these tees to their lineup and they’re exclusively available at 3939 – who we happened to feature in a Selectism Sessions video. The way we see it, everyone needs more t-shirts in their lives, there’s plenty of time before you have to start dressing like an old man from Florence. (3939)
Here’s one for the all black everything gang. Passarella recently made their first ready-to-wear collection and here’s our pick of the bunch. Sleek, dark and minimal are all adjectives that we feel we should be using when describing this piece. Our favourite detail on this piece however – not that you can see it in this picture – is the zipped cuffs, which gives it just enough of a unique feel to separate it from the hundreds of varsities available right now. Oh, and the sleeves are a buttery soft Japanese drum dyed leather, which is a big plus for any varsity. Available only at Selfridges (on the mens contemporary floor).
To commemorate the release of their self titled debut album, Passarella Death Squad have released this limited edition t-shirt. The duo, who were the first group to feature in our Selectism sessions, will be launching the album with a party at Selfridges which will be happening on the 30th of September. The stores stocking the album will be Colette, End, Seven New York, Darklands Berlin, Selfridges & Harvey Nichols amongst others.
We’ve been planning a video based series ever since we did our letterpress video. It’s taken a while, but we can finally present to you the Selectism sessions. Sessions is a music based series, focusing on bands we like here at SL.
We’re kicking off the series with Passarella Death Squad, who’s music and clothing was perfect for us. Their aesthetic isn’t the prevailing ‘woodsman-in-a-starbucks’ look that’s hot right now, but we’ve always liked their t-shirts and their ready to wear collection takes the brand to new heights. And there’s not a honest fabric in sight. The video finds out about the brands new ready to wear collection (Danny’s wearing a varsity from their new collection), their music project and the brand’s origins.
If you want to see the video in a larger size, go to our features page, where you can see it in all its HD glory.
If you’re at work, take a leap to see some stills from the video.
Continuing on our t-shirt fetish, here’s an alternative to the plain tees out there. Graphic print tees have (rightly) got a bad rap lately, but there’s still a few companies doing them right. Passarella Death Squad (obviously) are one of them, and here’s a shirt that one of us actually has in their closet right now. Just don’t wear it when we do and we won’t have any problems. (Coggles)
T-shirts are Passarella Death Squad’s bread and butter and here’s a preview of some of their new designs. Inspired by the 90’s dance scene, each tee is named after a specific track. Called ‘Anthem’, ‘Temperature Rising’ and ‘Can You Feel It’ respectively, the designs are classic Passarella. Look for these to drop at the usual suspects Oki-Ni, Loveless, Selfridges, End and Seven. We’re big fans of the shirts, but we’re a little disappointed that ‘Temperature Rising’ isn’t named after the Mobb Deep song.
Passarella Death Squad remove themselves from the confines of t-shirts as they begin a new chapter for Spring 2010. The lookbook itself maybe one of my favorites of the season with dark, highly contrasted images that place the looks very forward on paper. Cardigans, shirting, and leather jackets are the stand out pieces from the collection. “As with their tee’s which are made from a unique Japanese made fabric that is specially produced for PDS, all the garments are made in either Japan or the UK.”
