Paul Smith turns his attention to commemorative stamps with this edition for the Isle of Man celebrating London Olympics 2012. Always one to stay involved in all areas of design, Sir Paul was driven by his love of all things bike related.  ”A lifelong follower of world cycling, Paul Smith was honoured to be asked to participate in this project by the Isle of Man Post Office. The Isle of Man has strong cycling connections as it is the home of heroic Olympic cyclist, and good friend of Paul Smith, Mark Cavendish.”  The Isle of Man Post Office shop carries a selection of collectable packs with an accompanying book also available from Paul Smith online.

There’s been a full season of floral shirts now and it looks like things have started to calm down on the pattern front, if this shirt is anything to go by. A lot of floral options this year have been on the loud side, so we don’t blame anyone if they wanted to sit back and wait on some more subdued options. Despite the fact that it almost looks tie-dyed, this shirt is still more laid-back than most options earlier this year. Perfect for the trend toe-dipper out there. (Mr Porter)

More gift ideas, you may sigh at the idea of getting or giving socks but in truth they’re probably one of the most useful presents you could receive. Paul Smith beats a few to market with their postcard like prints on accessories and bags for Autumn 2011. You’ll see many more of these motifs coming this spring. I’m not exactly sure why someone would want to rock the “Welcome to Las Vegas” laptop or toiletry bag, even with the Paul Smith vehicle in the foreground. There are better options, but if you must, head over to Por Vocacao and pick one up.

We’re trying our best not to make an ‘unleash the beast’ joke here, we really are. But if we were to make a joke we’d probably set it up by saying something about how the trend for leopard print trainers has found its way into other accessories, make a witty/dull (depending on your view of our jokes) reference to something in the news and then finish it off with the punchline.
