This varsity was our favourite piece from People’s Market’s AW09 collection and now it’s in stores, we can take a closer look. Before we get into all that, we have to say something about this model.

Like most ASOS models, there’s something annoying about this guy, although we can’t point out exactly what that is. Maybe it’s the hat. Maybe it’s his face. Whatever it is, don’t let it put you off the actual piece. Beware that People’s Market fits tight, so you’ll probably be best off sizing up if you want a slim instead of skinny fit. (ASOS)

Aside from duffle coats and Albam-style cagoules – more than a few high street stores are biting this winter – another popular coat style this Autumn will be the baseball jacket. People’s Market have a nice version in their up and coming AW09 collection, which we can preview today. The collection also features sherling lined jackets and cardigans in buffalo plaid as well as the PM staple, skinny jeans. Take a look after the jump to see more looks.

Launched in 2002 by Dexter Wong, People’s Market have focused on slim cut staples such as skinny jeans and jackets. This collection sees a continuation of that but with added focus on knitwear.  Unlike the rest of the collection, the knitwear is decidedly oversized, with toggled shawl collar cardigans and extra long cardigans designed to be worn as outerwear all making an appearance.
