After Hong Kong, Rome and London, Louis Vuitton presents their next chapter in the video city guide and travels to their home town of Paris. The guide takes a look at the city of Paris and its heritage in the perfume production. Enjoy!

The folks at Joya, known for their “home ambience” offering and the scent makers over at D.S. & Durga worked together on the new “Starhorn Sumac” fragrance launching tonight during Fashion’s Night Out. 100 37mil bottle of the scent are being initially produced – each with a hint of the ‘Great Plains.” The outer packaging/pouch is a nice touch.

What up Berlin. Looks like Vibskov’s giving you the love with his new scent “TYPE B, for Berlin, captures a cold winter’s day in the former Eastern part of the city, where – even today – numerous buildings and houses are heated with coal.” Coal. They describe the scent as starting off spicy with some black pepper and sulphur smells that resemble a burning match. It them moves into woody territory and then “burns” its way to a musky birch and coal tar.  Colette has it.

Colette gets the worldwide exclusive on the new Santal 33 fragrance from Le Labo. Each bottle can be individually labeled with your name or message. The scent pulls from: “cardamom, iris, violet, ambrox, sandalwood, papyrus, cedar.” Coming May 15.

After giving you a look recently at the upcoming H&M x Comme Des Garcons collection, we show you today a couple of the accessories that will be released as part of the collaboration. To no surprise they are presenting a perfume and a zip wallet, both staple items in the regular Comme Des Garcons range. Matching many pieces in the line, the wallet features a polka dot all-over pattern. The scent comes with the collaborative branding and minimal packaging. Hopefully it has been produced by Comme Des Garcons – in that case hopes for a good product can be high.

A.P.C have recently announced their unisex perfume, called Sustain. This will be old news for those who’ve been following Jean Toitou’s Honeyee blog, where he displayed pictures of his research. When asked about why he chose the name Sustain he said, “It’s like the sustain pedal you step on when you play guitar, to make a note last. All the experts hate it, so I’m happy.” (via style.com)

The Comme des Garcons Perfume for milliner Stephen Jones was created by Antoine Maisondieu of Givaudan. The scent has notes of "clove, carnation, rose, jasmine, heliotrope, gaiac wood, magma, black cumin, vetiver and amber." The bottle is inspired by the classic inkwells of centuries past. Available now at Dover Street Market.

Coming for the holiday season is a new addition to the Comme des Garcons Parfum world – the limited edition CdG#2 "Silver Words".

Developing perfumes is no easy task. Most people in the business go to perfumery schools in Europe and land some gigs in high house locations throughout scented world. But some like aerospace chemist, Pierre Guillaume, simply played around with scents in his spare time.

Pierre Guillaume began Parfumerie Generale from this hobby and now has over twenty-five fragrances in the high end niche perfume market. He sticks to his guns using the same process he used in aerospace by “bombarding raw materials” with alcohol to “break” the perfumes. Currently only available in Europe, look for Parfumerie Generale to land Stateside soon (via GQ March).
