We’ve always liked Peter Jensen’s menswear, seeing it as much closer to casual streetwear than crazy fashion. Take this jumper for example, it’s perfectly wearable, especially if you’re not still weird about wearing pink. If you are, just call it washed red. It’s taken a while, but yellow jackets have eventually found their way from the fashion wilderness. Of course, there’s an up and downside to this – the upside being that you can find jackets like this, the downside being that there’s a raft of poorly made high street versions. One of the positives of menswear’s growth over the past few years has been the acceptance of colours. It’s been a long journey, but we think it’s fair to say that not many folks baulk at a burgundy coloured jumper like they used to. We haven’t reached rainbow levels yet but people can see that a piece like this Peter Jensen jumper is just as wearable as a navy knit. And it’s made in the UK, too, if you’re into that sorta thing. We’ve been fans of Jensen’s knitwear for a while now seeing his stand was a nice surprise. Because it’s a spring collection, the knitwear is of the lighter variety and well suited to everything but the weather in Paris last week. Jensen’s knitwear is great for the folks who like their knitwear to make more of a statement than ‘I ran through a workwear store with a black card’.

One of the major problems with ‘designer’ short sleeve shirts is that they tend to be made for super-skinny fashun folks. While that’s great if you’re one of said super-skinny fashion folks (or SSFF for short) but for the rest of us, the sleeves tend to grip your arms in an unflattering manner. This Peter Jensen shirt doesn’t have that problem, avoiding the SSFF fit by allowing for a little extra room in the bicep area – great news for folks who’ve heard of a bicep curl. (Opening Ceremony)

We’re trying to keep on the straight and narrow, honest, but pieces like this keep on calling us. We do love plain sweaters but, as the old cliche goes, variety’s the spice of life. The rabbit pattern is woven as opposed to printed on, making the £157 price tag look like a (relative) bargain. This won’t please everyone – we can hear the plain chambray club clicking their tan brogues in disgust as we speak – but what does? (Goodhood)

We’re always fans of pieces that fit into our everyday lives – it’s nice that people can wear three-legged jodphurs if that pleases them, but we’ve always been fans of the pieces that’ll get regular wear. Peter Jensen, known for his penchant for the avant garde, is surprisingly good at the understated stuff. Aside from protecting from the rain and all that boring stuff, it’d also work very well within a check-on-check shirt/jacket combo. Just remember to switch up the size of the checks. (Farfetch)

While it’s easy to find a thin knit in a multitude of colours – just go to Uniqlo – it’s decidedly harder to find a nice thick knit in a colour that isn’t the usual menswear colours. So that’s why we were extra excited to find this Peter Jensen cable knit jumper in a dashing shade of green. While the colour undoubtedly looks better on some shades of skin than others, green’s still a surprisingly universal colour – don’t be afraid of it. Someone needs to introduce Liam Gallagher to Peter Jensen. If Gallagher knew that there was already a designer making high quality parkas, he might stop wasting his time trying to make his own clothing line. The latest parka to come from Mr Jensen is this number, which is made of waxed cotton. As longtime readers will know, we’re big fans of anything that gets better as it ages and waxed cotton is one of those materials. Get it from Tres Bien.
