His Touch Wood Phone for NTT Docomo may have trumped them both. “The phones are being created as a joint venture with the ‘more trees’ reforestation project founded by musician Ryuichi Sakamoto and others. They are made with specially treated wood from the thinned forests in Japan managed by the ‘more trees’ project. Nokia will soon be releasing their latest high end phones, the 8800 Arte Series. Coming in at prices between 1k-2k USD, they are not cheap. With a 2-inch display, 3.2 megapixel camera and 1 GB of memory, this fancy device even sports an anti-fingerprint coating to keep it looking sharp. Complete with a leather pouch and noise-canceling bluetooth, it might actually be worth its money. In our opinion its the kind of phone for people that want something stylish and something for the longterm.
