Kitsune and Pierre Hardy Desert Boots for Autumn 2010

Selectism - Kitsune and Pierre Hardy Desert Boots for Autumn 2010

I used to think that the sneaker colorway game was going to end as soon as it came. If youre a cranky connoisseur of the sport, you probably see the last good years somewhere around the middle of the last decade. Many would make the same argument with the traditional shoe game as well. Everything is being thrown agains the chukka, the oxfords. But occasionally something comes forward which reminds us that there is still room. This desert boot from Kitsune and Pierre Hardy may be one of those. I happen to like it.

Selectism - Pierre Hardy for Kitsuné Shoes

A new fresh pair of shoes from Kitsuné made with a little help from Pierre Hardy. As Highsnobiety puts it, “For Spring/Summer 2010 the French fashion and music duo, Kitsuné, continues to work with shoe maker Pierre Hardy. For next season they chose to go with a low cut suede leather shoe. It comes in a classic light beige tone, perfectly matching the golf inspired Kitsuné Spring/Summer 2010 Collection.” Avaialble now through Colette Paris.

Pierre Hardy Spring/Summer 2010 Trainers

selectism - pierre-hardy-spring-2010-trainers-01Pierre Hardy is bringing the D-ring back. The sharp among you will have noted that D-ring boots have been making inroads into the mainstream for a bit now, but Pierre Hardy is the first big name (and by that we mean the first ‘fashion’ designer, we know other brands have been doing it for a while) to really jump on the look. Colours vary from navy to a light pink and there’s even some D-ringed loafers in the mix. Elsewhere the song remains the same: high tops in suede, leather and the trademark Hardy trim.

Take a gander at the rest of the collection after the leap.

Here’s one for the low profile lovers. Now that boat shoes are on their way out – or will be come 2010 – those of you who still need a shoe that allows for socklessness need look no further than Pierre Hardy’s collection. Hardy uses the laces from boat shoes and interprets them into an altogether sleeker shoe. There’s also the requisite blue suede loafers (pictured above), suede brogues and, oddly, workwear-esque boots.

Selectism - Pierre Hardy Autumn/Winter 2009 Men's Bags

Putting these out there. Pierre Hardy has a short collection of men’s bags which could very well be worn by your wives and girlfriends if not properly suited. A few options are available in patterned leathers. We’ll let you make the call on them. I’m pulling for the plain black leather tote. Go Euro.

Pierre Hardy Autumn/Winter 2009 Chelsea Boot

Here’s another belated drop from Pierre Hardy’s AW09 collection. We’ve gotta be honest, we’re not that into Pierre Hardy’s shoes – but these make the grade. They’ve got a rounded toe (which we’re noted fans of) and the suede is, for lack of a better word, buttery. And that’s all we have to say about it.

We all know the high tops are the reason people like Pierre Hardy, but their boots aren’t to be sniffed at either. These boots are the best out of their collection, with both suede and calf leather versions. The stacked crepe sole gives a more substantial look – they also add a few inches if you’re shorter than average.

Pierre Hardy Autumn/Winter 2009

You can always rely on Pierre Hardy to make great high tops. The former Dior footwear creative director has been going since 2002 in the men’s side of things, offically starting the high top collection back in 2006. Three years on and the fashion landscape has changed immeasurably. High tops have moved from diversive footwear to staple, so the dilemma now is not how to make them high-end, but rather how to make them feel like new.

As a result of this, we’re noticing more experimentation in the materials used, and in Hardy’s case more luxurious materials, while the silhouette remains the same. For example, the versions pictured above are suede with patent lining while below the leap you can see various uses of calf leather and gold.

Pierre Hardy Spring/Summer 2009 Footwear

pierre hardy spring summer 2009 sneakers front Pierre Hardy Spring/Summer 2009 Footwear

We present you the latest footwear to come from Pierre Hardy. As part of his Spring/Summer 2009 collection, the designer presents his popular Hi Cut Sneaker in a range of new colorways. Overall it seems though the looks have become more subtle. When we saw last season still multiple strong colors on the sneaker, Pierre Hardy presents this season a more monotone range. More interesting than the Hi Cut Sneaker, we find the new Double Ring sneaker. It reminds us a little of the Common Projects Chukka, and features a double ring closing. It comes in two nice suede options this season.

The Pierre Hardy Spring/Summer 2009 Footwear is now available at Eliminator.

R29 may be onto something. “We’ve caught onto a bold new trend that sure to make things a little brighter. Wear your mood on your shoes and shake things up with an unexpected pair of blue-hued shoes. Not exactly the first thing you’d think of when it comes to men’s dress shoes, until we came across these.” These blues from Kitsuné for Pierre Hardy, part of the fifth series of the on going collaboration, feature opposing red and white laces on the blue finish – must be a French thing. Available now from Colette FR.
