steven harrington 01 Steven Harringtons You & I Porcelain Sculpture

Steven Harrington is an L.A based artist and designer who creates amazing pieces with a bit of a colourful folk art feel. This sculpture was made in collaboration with Toykyo studio, a Ghent based office who deal in an equally colour obsessed range of graphics and aim to “fill the world with beautiful objects and spread happiness one collaboration at a time”.

A perfect match, the duo release this porcelain piece as a limited edition of 25, with 5 dropping at Collete, Paris anytime now. “An intricate, yet flowing design piece. This latest porcelain piece creates a dialogue between the sculpture and the viewer where there’s an instant connection between you, the sculpture and the artist.” Fine work indeed.

Choosing tableware is an expedition only taken on by those ready to settle into a look which will remain in their family for generations. Hermes hopes that you will consider their Bleus D’Ailleurs tableware collection which will arrive in Hermes shops this May. Blue porcelain has been with us for centuries and this collection is inspired from the past while delivering elegant looks that summarize a modern spin. “Having come from China after a long voyage, the designs are directly inspired by nature. So there is nothing rigid about the petals, the daisies, the honeycomb…” Black highlights work with the blue in delivering an absolutely beautiful collection of porcelain tableware for your home.

RTEmagicC apothecary emotion.jpg ADLER’S APOTHECARY OF EMOTION

Since a while now we are big fans of porcelain art. It is incredible what some artists manage to do with this classic material, that was to date only known for the use in the kitchen. This is the latest we came across.

Jonathan Adler’s latest is the Apothecary of Emotion ~ a collection of porcelain mugs and vessels ideal for those who have a need to compartmentalize their emotions not just mentally, but physically. There are matte translucent white porcelain jars for Hate, Anger, Joy, and Love… and two moody glazed porcelain mugs: Joy/Anger and Love/Hate. Via Notcot.
