Postalco Three Year "Cho Seiri" Calendar

Postalco is a name synonymous with minimally designed stationary (and more) that remains beautiful and functional. They’re also big on the research and using new design to solve some common issues in our day to day. This three-year calendar is a prime example. Professor Yukio Noguchi’s Cho Seiri Calendar was invented in the 1990’s and allows fo easy viewing of extended periods of time through the accordion style fold out. . This three-year calendar folds up nicely and makes a great holiday gift or stocking stuffer. Ghostly has them online. Check out more from Postalco for other great gift ideas.

Postalco Wastepaper Bin for The Conran Shop

Postalco Wastepaper Bin for The Conran Shop

The folks at Postalco are always looking to make our interaction with everyday objects just that little bit more pleasing. Take their popular range of notebooks. Scribbling down a to-do list is a pretty mundane activity, but using a starched pressed cotton covered pad with pin graph paper just makes things that little but nicer. The same thought process underlined the creation of this bin made in collaboration with The Conran Shop Japan. Make an attractive, easy to use, functional wastepaper bin and chucking away those delivery menus and illegible post-its won’t be such a dull chore. Industrial grade paperboard riveted to a wooden backboard. Simple. Yes, we know we’re talking about a bin here but we just really like nice things.

Postalco Leather Tote Bag

Japanese stationary wizards Postalco are best know for their legal envelopes and multicoloured fabric notebooks, instantly recognisable they’ve helped make this brand a worldwide, albeit relatively quiet, success. However, their ever-expanding range covers more than just paper goods. These impressive totes another example of their commitment to simplicity, the cross grain leather is vegetable tanned but retains the marks and irregularities you’d expect with natural leather. The bag is reinforced around the top with straps, lined with pigskin and features a zippered interior pocket. That’s about it in terms of detail – Postalco’s strength lies in stripping back the unnecessary. -ld

Postalco, a favorite in the world of unique stationary has teamed with retailer, Opening Ceremony, on a series of wallets and notebooks to be sold through their stores in New York, Los Angeles, and Postalco’s Kyobashi Shope in Japan. The collection pulls inspiration from traditional Japanese geometry of the Edo Period (1603-1867). The patterns were drawn on wooden tablets called “Sangaku” and were hung under temple and shrine roofs to pay thanks to god for the discovery of the mathematical theorem.
