Not the first time Mr. Weller has worked with a fashion label (think Fred Perry) but his loyalty to Liam’s Pretty Green line is understandable: they’re friends and friends help friends. “Always a style icon, Paul Weller will be indulging his love for fashion this summer with an exclusive collection for Pretty Green. It will feature six limited edition pieces, all showcasing Weller’s sharp infamous style…’I’ve wanted to design my own range for some time and Pretty Green felt like a good home for my clothes.’ ” Coming June 23.

While our London writer may have passed on this one, the chance to put Liam’s face up on Selectism is not only fun but a stabbing pain to others. We’ve gotten word (and an image) teasing the opening of the Pretty Green Flagship coming to London.

NME reports that Paul Weller may be giving the Gallagher brother a helping hand with design for his Pretty Green label. As reported, the Jam mastermind seems to already be working on some looks which may well work out to be a signature line under the Pretty Green label. ” ‘I’ve got designs for suits, jackets, shoes – I’ve been talking to Liam about them,’ he explained. ‘It’s the same principle as what he’s [Gallagher] doing, really – stuff I’d wear myself.’ ”

This is not the first time that Weller has dipped into fashion. His love for Fred Perry is fairly well known.

I knew eventually that Liam’s Pretty Green line would tie in with hometown favorites Clarks. Check this three color series of Clarks Desert Boots for the line which make some minor changes to the silhouette to please Mr. Gallagher himself. Changes include “a wider, squarer toe and a smaller heel, creating a slimmer profile than the original.” They’ll be available exclusively through Pretty Green’s online shop.

Today the first collection of Pretty Green by Liam Gallagher has launched. Their Spring/Summer 2009 offering mostly consists of basics, including t-shirts, knitwear, jackets, hats and scarfs with logo placements. The line is now available in their online store.

I love this video – a must see. Fascinating. Oasis’ leader singer, Liam Gallagher is set to launch his own clothing line, Pretty Green, in the very near future. Named after a title track from The Jam, Mr. Gallagher states, “The reason I’m doing it is I like clothes. We’re going to do clothes I like, if people like it cool if they don’t, they don’t!.. It’s not going to be cheap…I don’t like the skinny look.” More to come on this one.
