Dazed Digital presents backstage action from Pringle of Scotland’s Autumn Winter 2012. Alastair Carr’s second collection is best seen up close with knitwear being the star of the show as ever. Roll-necks, textured knits, camel overcoats and double breasted blazers, Alastair describes  ”I wanted a clear luxury palette, a cleaner idea compared to last season. The idea was to create a whole wardrobe.

It feels very British thanks to the cherry red!” See Dazed Digital for more.

Pringle of Scotland Archive Collection with St. Martins School

Pringle of Scotland is prepping a new look at their archive with “The Pringle Archive Project 1815 – 2011.” Working with the St. Martins School, Pringle of Scotland looks to mix the youth with their generations of design. As the Telegraph reports, “Under the guidance of Professor Louise Wilson OBE, the students created their interpretations of iconic pieces, drawing inspiration from classic Argyle knits and vintage twinsets from the Pringle archive. The designers juxtaposed these elements with bright colours and modern concepts, to create a collection of twelve jumpers.”

We highlight some of the looks coming from the collection (many of which are for the femmes).

Selectism - Pringle of Scotland Spring 2011 Runway

Fashionisto checks in from Milan with their report on the Pringle of Scotland Spring 2011 collection. “Finding itself catering to a man in a uniform at one point and then shifting gears to an attempt at fashion-forward ensembles based around the knit, the latest collection from Pringle of Scotland comes off as a surprise. On one hand, there is a showcasing of interesting work with knitwear, but at the same time, the collection becomes diluted with too many perspectives fighting for the limelight. From innovative spring coats with an edge to a walk on the softer side of menswear, Pringle of Scotland unleashes a chaotic view for the upcoming season.”
