Simplicity is god. Or, in the case of Norse Projects’ collaboration with Pro-Keds: simplicity is Odin. Minimalism certainly wins out in their reworking the Royal Master sneaker. Here, NP delivers three colorways inspired by their Copenhagen environs: specifically the ocean, the beach and old town. Pigskin suede, a cork inner sole and leather lining make for a classic look and feel indeed. The aniline dyed leather heel tab is just a nice little touch on a solid understated piece of fancy footwear that we’d like to wear in the old town and on the beach; but not in the ocean. -jt

PRO-Keds launches the Summer 2011 today, April 15, 2011. A highlight is the use of washed twill for the Royal Plus Hi. Olive, Light Brown and Castlerock are available, each well suited to a crisp pair of khakis or some washed denim.

You’ll either love or really love this floro pack of kicks from Pro-Keds for Opening Ceremony. “For our third collaboration with Keds, Opening Ceremony presents classic low-top Pro-Keds in vibrant fluorescent ultrasuede. paying homage to british subcultural style, this installment calls to mind the shocking neon ‘dos of punker kids everywhere, from Camden Town to St. Marks Place.” The Neon Royal (above, left)  deserve to be in my closet (right next to my neon Lunar Rejuven8 Mids).

Glimpses of the Richard Chai for PRO-Keds collection made their rounds around NYFW after their debut during the Chai runway show. Today, we’re happy to bring you more detailed photos of the collection which will hit stores sometime around January – just in time for Spring 2010 delivery. A variety of color ways will be available against a low and high top models with zipper and laceless looks that borrow fabrics from Chai’s own collection.

Japanese brand Dead Lotus collaborated with Pro-Keds on a sneaker. The lo-top comes in premium black leather, a contrasting white sole. The Dead Lotus skull logo comes in a subtle way on a silver button on the side of the sneaker as well as in the form of a signature on the tongue.
