The Dwell Blog turned us onto this very “back to basics” Singghi Kartono’s Magno Wooden Radio, available from A+R. I love how it reminds me of the wood blocks I used to build with as a kid. The color choice of the woods is exceptionally clean. The Indonesian designer ”enlists local carpenters in areas with high unemployment” to construct these radios which offer AM/FM reception as well as two shortwave bands. A line-in plug is also there for your MP3/iPod, and, yessir, it runs on AA batteries for portability. Drop the 210$US on this Magno Wooden Radio. You’ll be more than pleased with the big ole wood knobs.

More views of Singghi Kartono’s Magno Wooden Radio after the jump.
