Tetra Shed – Modular Garden Office

Tetra Shed - Modular Garden Office

Tetra Shed, designed by David Ajasa-Adekunle, is a modular office tent that looks to meet the expanding needs of many. While it is offered as an office style modular space that can grown up to six tents, the Tetra Shed modules can be used for eveything from pop-up shops to temporary build-outs. They’re available in a variety of colors as well as copper, zince, steel, and plywood facades. On the inside, the Tetra Shed is finished in birch or plaster board. A very interesting design. Coming in 2012.

Selectism - UNIQLO To Open Second NYC Store on Fifth Avenue

It’s clear that UNIQLO is happy with how the NYC market is reacting to their well priced lined. Their Broadway store (which was their second run at bringing the line to the United States) is never short of busy. Stroll through the doors and you’ll find traffic thick. Something IS working. Now, we’re hearing word that the line is opening up a second New York City location on Fifth Avenue. While their building number may be the sign of the devil, we’re sure that shop will be as overrun. Selectism - Maison Martin Margiela Opens in Miami

The Maison Martin Margiela house opened their 19th store this month in Miami in the form of “Temporary.”  Surprisingly, it is only their second third retail location in the United States after New York City and LA. “Maison Martin Margiela has, since it’s founding in 1988, made Paris its home. Now, twenty one years later it opens Maison Martin Margiela, Miami, temporary home to the Maison Martin Margiela collections in Miami’s Design District. Following the F Factory Limited Edition Experiences, it was only logical to find a temporary location in the Miami Design District. Many will immediately ask as to exactly how temporary “Temporary” is! The Maison Martin Margiela’s reply to this is ‘However long it takes to find our dream home….. Yet temporary this location is!’ “

Selectism - Rapha Continental Mini-Mart

Buildouts. We love them. Especially when they’re from the brands we love. Check this “mini-mart/convenience” store they set up in Virginia during the North America Handmade Bicycle Show. Ben showed up some views of the pop-up on his Column recently. We’ll expand on it with some more images. “Beverage cooler, magazine racks, shelving, lottery, public postings and a cigarette wall (smartly rebranded by Carey SH with the names of our Continental rides), help to set the store—and a few shiny bikes laying against the front wall complete the quick stop spot.”

The store will be popping up in London and Paris at first, with spaces opening at The Shop at Bluebird and Colette. Pop up dates: Shop at Bluebird: 22nd September – 12th October, Colette: September 28th – October 3rd.

Selectism - Jack Spade at Apartment Number 9 Pop-Up Shop

Men.style reports in with looks at the new Jack Spade pop-up in Los Angeles which features an interesting crüe of curators. “Despite what they say about all work and no play, Jack—Spade, that is—is no dull boy. The hardworking brand’s latest pop-up is now open in L.A.’s Apartment Number 9, where it is offering a full range of accessories and making the West Coast debut of its first apparel collection. A wide range of contributors and collaborators—from secondhand hounds like Reference Library’s Andy Beach and our buddy (and Spade alum) Mister Mort to comedienne Phyllis Diller—have curated a selection of vintage goods…”

Selectism - Wish You Were Here | London-NYC Shop Swap

Wallpaper* reports in regarding an interesting take on pop-up retail with a cross Atlantic swap of sorts. The “Wish You Were Here” Project positions 30 London boutiques into the Lower East Side at 186 Orchard Street. “More than just an excuse for a group jolly, the conglomerate of independent boutiques are engaging in an extended swap shop with counterparts of the Lower East Side shopping district – feeling a symbiotic, albeit transatlantic approach to their brands, both individually and of the two areas as a whole.”
