Rickard Lindqvist displayed his A/W 2009 range last week at Swedish fashion week and the collection looked to build on his strong showings in previous seasons. With a focus on sharply tailored jackets, knitwear of various sizes and overlong scarves, the overall collection is one that could easily translate into anyone’s wardrobe – regardless of their personal style. This collection continues to mix classic tailoring with contemporary choices of colour and materials. Denim is the material that Lindqvist has decided to experiment with this time around, using it for everything from jumpsuits to trench-like coats. Made from heavy duty wool threading, the cardigan looks to fall well onto the form and though it looks gray in the photo, we’re told it is truly brown. "Originally trained as a men’s tailor Rickard Lindqvist graduated with a BA in Fashion Design from the Swedish School of Textile in June 2005. During and after his studies, he has worked for various companies such Vivienne Westwood, Nudie Jeans, Whipping Floyd and Filippa K. He has also dressed artists such as Håkan Hellström, The (International) Noise Conspiracy, Whyte Seeds and Broder Daniel. In 2004 he was rewarded the Sisley award at the Mittelmoda fashion award in Gorizia, Italy. His work has been show and exhibited in Paris, Tokyo, Berlin Copenhagen and Stockholm."
