Our big brother site featured these yesterday so it’s only right that we show these off to all the folks who might have missed it. If you haven’t guessed from the title Moncler and Rimowa got together for some hot high-end brand collaboration action; this was the result. Ideal for the man who likes his luggage to match his attire.

I had a tough time deciding if I would show all the pieces in the RIMOWA Salsa Air line – which are now all available in a cognac flavor – or just one roll-away. Problem is RIMOWA luggage is strikingly beautiful when seen as individual works of industrial design. The new color against Salsa Air, which is their most lightweight of lines, offers that subtle touch of unique to your roll-away. A great look.

RIMOWA delivered the first ever aluminum corrugated case back in the 50’s. Today, they repro the original in a limited short run. “The vintage case is limited to a production of 1,950 pieces and is offered in six different sizes—small suitcases to large travel pieces. “We particularly want to appeal to our customers who still remember the original cases, because their parents, perhaps, travelled with them on their first trips. Pure nostalgia! We have been constructing cases of corrugated aluminum for 60 years and would like to offer our loyal customers a really special treat with these models”, Dieter Morszeck comments on the reason behind the exclusive limited edition series”

Here’s another set of interesting pieces from the RIMOWA family. Many, including myself, may not be aware that they also offer a series of wallets for the gents (and ladies). “RIMOWA wallets are crafted in Germany from top-of-the-line European leather and are available in 9 different styles, including bi-fold a credit card case, unisex wallets.” Similar styling found on their luggage makes it way onto these forms – in a straight forward way.

RIMOWA’s “Bolero” line of luggage is a take on the polycarbonate shell luggage which works visually. The best feature is of course the ability of the shell to take a hit and return to place – any dents can be knocked back out without damage to the luggage itself. “t offers a more fully featured upgrade from the Rimowa Salsa collection to make traveling even more enjoyable. The feature that sets this series apart from the others is the useful pockets on the front. The telescopic handle has an aluminum finish and the top and side carrying handles are recessed and very comfortable.”

Rimowa, famous for their “hard” case ribbed luggage, works a special flavor/makeup for Japan’s United Arrows line. This is not their first special makeup. Back in 2008, the releases a Honey Gold take on the flight classic Rimowa. Today, they hit the boarding zone with a “White” ensemble of five different models.

Germany’s own Rimowa aluminum luggage are not hard to pick out. Just look for their ribbed shells in the expedited first class line on your next international flight. You are sure to notice one or two pieces.

Their 2008 collaboration with Japan’s United Arrows, entitled “Honey Gold” is another distinct model adding to Rimowa’s century long legacy. The exterior is of course colored in “honey gold” giving it a very striking sheen when presented side by side with Rimowa’s typical aluminum offering.
