Riviera Club Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook

rivieraclub 1 Riviera Club Spring/Summer 2012 Lookbook
Speaking as we just were of pricey polos, Riviera Club has a Spring/Summer lookbook to show us. The advantage here is that the boys at the club don’t seem to be suggesting we should drop the cash for the label itself, but rather for the look and vibe of their wares. It is a subtle difference, but is sort of the difference, if you are picking up what we are putting down.

This is not to say that we are bonkers over the entire collection. The green patterned belt that pops up here and there seems a little tacked-on and some of the silhouettes look a bit frumpy, but there’s enough gold to fill our chests—the seersucker blazer, Crosby (not to be confused with Cosby) cardigan, the printed chambray pant and the varsity jacket, for starters.

Riviera Club Autumn/Winter 2011 New York Fashion Week Presentation

Riviera Club Autumn/Winter 2011 New York Fashion Week Presentation

Last night we attended the New York Fashion Week presentation of Riviera Club, showcasing their new Autumn/Winter 2011 Collection. The dinner table setup continues to be a popular one – we have seen it already this season in Paris at the Thom Browne show and in Copenhagen at the Vibskov show. Riviera chose to do a more loose setting of their presentation, with models hanging out around the fully set dinner tables. The looks stay similar to what we have seen before – a smart heritage inspired look that we also continue to like, as it is easy to wear, easy to match, yet you are dressed for any occasion.

Selectism - Riviera Club Spring/Summer 2010

Santa Barbara is home to a new menswear line which pulls influence from the surf inspired California lifestyle while pushing more towards casual day wear. “With its debut collection, Riviera Club toasts the legend of Bunker Spreckels, surfing’s ‘Divine Prince of Decadence,’ … Traveling the world with a hired photographer and a surfboard, he lived a life of spontaneous extravagance and style, until his unexpected and mysterious death at the age of 27. Riviera Club relives Bunker’s times and travels through the detailing of their Spring/Summer 2010 collection.”
