More from the Robert Geller Seconds collection – this time with a direct to buy link. We profile the shorts from the collection – available in two colors of grey and black. As mentioned yesterday, the collection is produced in Japan. The shorts in particular are on the slightly longer end but well fitted with drawstring pulls on the sides to allow you some play with how the fabric falls. Ssense has them both.

Robert Geller Seconds is a high end premium basics line from the New York designer that produces their wear in Japan using soft washed cotton and against a muted color palette. Look for shirts, sweatshirts, zip-up hoodies and more developed with strong tailoring and style. Worth a look.

Los Angeles-based Fred Segal Man gets serious with their casual four garment capsule collection designed by New York’s Robert Geller. They keep the shit simple by working over items that belong in (almost) all our closets: a garment-dyed Japanese denim rider jacket, fade-dye hooded sweatshirt, sleeveless “Oceanside” reversible t-shirt and cropped neon Japanese denim.

Give credit for the overworked neon Japanese denim: they are strong and contrasting against almost anything in my closet but I’ll be damned if I do not get a pair to rock this summer. The rider jacket is a strong fit as well. Hell, all of this works – even on the East Coast.

The collection drops March 30 at Fred Segal Man (420 Broadway St. Santa Monica, CA) and online.

We know something is being done right when the clothes look a bit tattered and odd and we still want them. Such is the case with Robert Geller’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, called Seconds. These peeks are not detailed enough to make many declarative overtures, but we can say with confidence that we like the mood of the thing.

In their words, the collection is “an elegant yet casual take on classic athletic wear that is meant to be integrated into an everyday wardrobe. The collection utilizes premium production in Japan, soft washed cotton and a beautiful muted color palette. Highlights of the collection include contrast color shirts, sweatshirts, zip-ups and hooded pullovers as well as sweatpants featuring hidden pockets and innovative color-blocking.”

Well, we love hidden pockets—especially in athletic gear. We also love being able to blend super comfortable shit into our workday wardrobes. We will let you know when we figure out what the silver 7 is all about and also how the wide-brimmed hat holds up in a spin class.

Robert Geller presented Autumn/Winter 2012 last night during #nyfw. The collection is an updated take on “what made English style so great.” The collection is clearly a not to the street scenes of London and beyond. Earth tones fill the garments with the occasional hits of “burn orange” and “dusty marigold” rounding out layers looks that include cropped knits, military inspired anoraks, and a wide variety of trousers – fitted, roomy, and two-third when necessary. Check the Common Projects shoes and Etiquette Clothiers socks that fill the feet.

New York’s C.Chauchat delivered this collection of neckwear for the Robert Geller A/W 2011 collection. Inspired by the  ”dusky mauves and greys of Visconti’s epic ‘The Leopard,’” the collection mixes Swiss cottons and overlays of silk with solid color chiffon and polka dots. Friendly enough to spruce up your holiday attire.

Robert Geller’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection, shown during New York Fashion Week on September 10, looks to “explore” the male form in new ways. “Circles, squares and triangles are suggested in pieces such as rounded overcoats, oversized jackets with boxy cuts and pants that start wide at the waist and taper at the ankles. Exaggerated hats, slouchy draping and unexpected tailoring also contribute to the collection’s experimentation with form.” More casualness for Spring with a strong fashion first attitude.

We’re not actually sure if any of those three actually wore a jacket like this but were going to make an assumption and say they did.
