The new R44 collection from designers Rogan Gregory and Scott Mackinlay Hahn brings a mix of “the artistic minimalism of Rogan’s namesake brand with the eco-conscious spirit and organic fabrics Mackinlay Hahn and Gregory’s Loomstate.” The garments are very much the basics, but the Rogan cut is in there. Let us know what you think of the collection.

Rogan Timeless Watch

Selectism - Rogan Timeless Watch

Cool Hunting points us at the newest “timepiece” creation from the Rogan house. “Rogan recently released their newest bit of design re-invention with the Timeless Watch. Made in NYC, the wrist candy repurposes old watch pieces, making each one both unique and a chic example of upcycling. But the best part of this accessory, its “timeless” empty face, not only neatly dismisses the modern anxieties of analogue-vs.-digital and how to convey the appropriate importance without looking too flashy, but in the process also cleverly comments on the whole convention of keeping time at all.”

More looks at the Rogan Timeless Watch after the click.

Critical Shopper on Rogan, Bowery

Selectism - Critical Shopper on Rogan, Bowery

NYT’s Critical Shoppper visits the (recently) new Rogan Store on Bowery iN NYC. We covered the opening a bit ago, but Mike Albo’s description on the clothing is well worth a second mention. "THE solemn clothes and black interior of the new Rogan store on the Bowery made me think of the band Radiohead and other super-serious artists like them who are always photographed with somber expressions in front of gnarled leafless trees…These clothes share that glamorized bleak aesthetic. A black V-neck had neon programming code skittering across the side — very ‘OK Computer.’

I think its more like the horn section in "Idioteque" off of Kid A personally but who’s counting…

Rogan for Target at Barneys New York

Selectism - Rogan for Target at Barney's New York

This seems to a first. FWD is reporting, “Rogan Gregory’s capsule designs for Target may not have generated the same frenzy as the Kate Moss for Topshop collection, but the collection certainly has a fan in Barneys New York. Julie Gilhart, the store’s fashion director, has worked her magic by persuading Target to launch the Rogan for Target collection at her Manhattan and Beverly Hills flagships in advance of their launch at the superstore. The collection, which marks the first time Barneys has carried Target merchandise, will arrive in New York and Los Angeles on May 8 and 15, respectively, and will be carried on the Co-op floor. The pieces will only be in stock for five days-after that, shoppers will have to wait for the mass debut.”

Pretty interesting concept that really begins to elevate the quality of Target’s capsule collections. They aint a box store no mo!
