The Francs Bourgeois Pavillon by Ruby  is about my favorite helmet and it has nothing to do with France. It all comes down simplicity and color of the Ruby line. This is clearly not the first time we have discussed Ruby helmets, so it should come as no surprise that we hyper-focus on one of their various styles. You can see more of them over on Studiohomme, but we think this is the one to get.

A band-on load of new helmets from Les Atelier Ruby for Winter 2011. The collection keeps the same form factor as all their helmets but gets creative on the colors and patterns found on the exterior. Ruby make luxury mobility accessories, that’s fancy helmets to you and me. Brainchild of designer Jerome Coste, after six bike related head injuries and a stint at Californian motocross brand JT Racing he turned his attention to creating helmets that were both good looking and as safe as houses. The design is based on early styles (minus the chinstrap), however the technology behind them is thoroughly modern.

Using materials commonly found in the aerospace industry, carbon fibre to be exact, the brand has been able to make something incredibly light and incredibly strong. This being a ‘luxury’ product, much attention is paid to making them look impressive too. There’s a continuing range of styles as well as the opportunity to create your own custom helmet. Collaborations with Eley Kishimoto, which we previously featured, and Karl Lagerfeld are also available. Stay safe over at Ruby.

Something new from the Ateliers Ruby group. Working with Martin Margiela they have developed a new scarf for the masses (well, maybe a few hundred), “Jerome Coste wanted to venture into the world of the off-beat and re-interpretation, which are the founding principles of Masion Martin Margiela. This is Les Ateliers Ruby Bandit twill silk scarf with a hand rolled hem. The print is a black and white ‘Meudon White’ paint effect to reflect the painting of the helmet in the same collection and also features a few personal touches from the Margiela team. ” (oki-ni)

Our friends at Materialiste FR report on the latest “Signature” Helmet collaboration from helmet maker Les Atleiers Ruby. Maison Martin Margiela is next in line for the treatment. “The hull is varnished carbon coated and then the White House with a broad brush to get a “Blanc de Meudon”, traces of many white, pure white, but imperfect, which is the universal signature Margiela.” Look for it in April.

More McQueen inspired looks from France’s Le Ateliers Ruby. “The scarf has always been an essential part of any high speed trip. Our man in Geneva discovered these Eley Kishimoto Prototype Ruby Helmets while shopping around. We’re not sure if these Belvedere and Pavilion Helmets from Eley Kishimoto, with encrusted rubies lining the rim of the opening, have made it to market. But we are sure that we’d happily rock these while running through NYC on our Ruckus’.
