Bill Amberg Hunter Rucksack Backpack

Bill Amberg Hunter Rucksack

Bill Amberg’s leather rucksack is a thing of beauty. As he describes it: “Slightly smaller than my previous sacks as I was seldom filling them anyway. Suede lined straps to avoid slipping off your shoulder and the bottom of the strap is attached to the outside of the bags; consequently very comfortable against your back.” Very well done, as expected. [DJ Clue voice] New bag, new bag new bag (repeated until infinity)[/DJ Clue]. We’ve all been saving our pennies for a H by Harris bag since they first came out and now here’s another reason to add to the fund. Coming in ‘fire engine red’, we’re already reaching into the red backpack savings account (something that didn’t exist before we started writing this post). [Browns]

Selectism - barbour-canvas-rucksack-01

If you’re still looking for a rucksack, here’s one to gawk at. If you haven’t guessed from the title, this one’s by Barbour, who’ve been working to get their online store up to scratch. They’ve done a good job too, it’s user friendly and doesn’t overdose on flash, which is always helpful. And this bag looks nice, and at £160, is relatively affordable. (Barbour)

Brooks Islington Rucksack Backpack

Brooks Islington Rucksack Backpack

More Brooks England goodness this week. Their latest is their take on the rucksack backpack. “It’s a bona fide big rucksack in terms of volume, but boasts such levels of adjustability on all sides that if travelling light, it will remain tight and snug to the rider’s back… When the straps are crossed as shown above, a level of comfort previously considered unreachable is attained by the wearer, releasing the attention to matters of locomotion instead.

Makr Rucksack

Selectism - makr-rucksack-01

A couple of Makr bags have just landed at French Trotters and here’s our pick of the bunch. Given men’s natural love for all things navy we often find ourselves forcing ourselves to get accessories in different colours, if only to break up the monotony of an all blue outfit. Looking like an Americana incarnation of the blue man group is never a good look. (French Trotters)

Ann Demeulemeester Rucksack

selectism - ann-demeulemeester-rucksack-01

Rucksacks tend to split into two camps: either they’re overly rustic or their made of buttery soft leather. This bag, by Ann Demeulemeester – or Ann D for those too lazy to spell her name – falls into the latter camp. As far as high end designer rucksacks go, this is actually one of the cheaper options out there (we’re well aware that calling anything with a £570 price tag cheap is bordering on insanity). Our only nitpick with this is that the strap might make it uncomfortable to carry heavy loads. (The Corner)

Kris Van Assche Leather Rucksack

Selectism - kris-van-assche-leather-rucksack-01

We’re a little bit in love with Kris Van Assche’s – or just K as we call him – bags for spring. This leather rucksack would be great for those days when you want to lug a ton of stuff (and nearly a ton of money to spare). It’s also got a top handle so you can carry it around like a tote, although why anyone would want to carry a bag this big as a tote is beyond us. (Farfetch)
