There seems to be a trend developing lately for mixing scarves with other items of clothing. Whether it’s mixing it with a cardigan or adding a hat and mittens to the equation, it seems designers just can’t let scarves be. The latest label to add to this trend are Ring, who’ve made a scarf with a turtle neck. Seeing as turtle necks have the tendency to make you look like a 70’s Bond villain, we can’t quite endorse this as a solid purchase, but it would be something you could pick up in the January sales. For most people, the first time they realise that it’s a new season is when they actually feel the need to get out the scarf and gloves. Seeing as everyone’s talking about how the recession is affecting the way we dress, we thought we should too. These two Folk scarves represent two different feelings about the economy. Wear the blue one and the muted colours show how down you are about the economy, wear the grey one and the bright colours show you’re trying to cheer everyone up. A scarf with pockets has got to be pretty high up on a list of things you think you’ll never need.
