Next up in our store visit series is Anthem. Still a new born baby, we decided to shoot it because, well, it looks cool. Based in Shoreditch, it’s situated right in between other menswear favourites Ally Capellino and Present. Take a look at the store yourself after the leap.
Remember when Jacket Required was just a blueprint? You should, because it’s in the features section. We caught up with one owner and two attendees to see how the show was going, look for yourself up in the features section.
Our latest video feature is about the new London based tradeshow Jacket Required. Launching in August, the show was founded by Craig Ford, Andrew Parfitt and Mark Batista, who tell us all about the show in the video. Click here to see it in all it’s glory.
After joking about this shoot for some time – and yes, most shoots here start out as in-jokes, we decided to do a home based shoot. After all, what would things look like in a kitchen ran by us? So we teamed up with Brian Ferry from the Blue Hour and decided to show off the ideal Selectism kitchen. The Selitchen, if you will.
Check the full feature here and take a leap to hear the song that inspired the shoot.
We caught up with Sergei Sviatchenko, the man behind one of our favourite sites, Close Up and Private. Read the feature for an insight into his world, his favourite decades of style, his love for the Beatles and why CUAP isn’t preppy.
We decided to take a slight left turn with our latest feature. Instead of featuring a store or brand, we captured Lewisham based musician Don Strapzy in an East End pub. We decided to get him in Carhartt because (a) it suited him and (b) he might not have agreed to wearing a floral print shirt topped off with a neckerchief and panama hat. So without any more yapping, click here for the shoot.
Here’s a snippet of our newest editorial, a shoot with Don Strapzy. One of our team has spoken about how they loved Strapzy and in a moment of madness, we decided to do a shoot with him in Carhartt and Drakes accessories. We hate to be teasers, but this is all we’re giving out for now. The full piece will be out on Monday. Until then, make do with this picture, which you can click on to enlarge.
We sat down with Grenson owner Tim Little and had a good chat. We talked about everything from his days as an advertising man looking after adidas, his current position as owner of Grenson, overseas production, revamping the brand and the average man’s undying love for a black square toed shoe. There’s also some great photography from Charlotte Hadden. So go on and read it.
So we’re back again and, to paraphrase the black Frank White, things done changed. We’ve teamed up with the man from the Blue Hour and used people this time round. And, while things have changed on that front, we’re still just showing how we’d wear things. We’ll leave the styling to the specialists – we’re just some folks who love a bit of Craig David.
