Font of all Levi knowledge, Lynn Downey, takes the ‘World’s oldest Jeans’ on the road. This denim relic has earned celebrity status since it’s discovery. Gasps and flashbulbs as it enters the room with wide-eyed crowds gathered to leer and pay homage. We watch as it lands in the Shibuya store, Tokyo. A party is thrown in it’s honour and hi-tech security is put in place like a loyal bodyguard, ready to take a bullet for this double X dignitary. Selectism - Tokyo | Rockers Island Record Shop

Not many shops remain in this world that sell vinyl. Even less remain focused in on genres that output massive amount of tunes to 7inch vinyl. Tokyo’s Rocker’s Island does just that by delivering to a dancehall, dub, and reggae heavy city with what looks to be one of the widest selections of the genres outside of Jamacia or London. New and old releases line every centimeter of their Shibuya shop. And you know what’s crazy? They actually have a steady flow of business – something you do see too often in present day music retail.
