Left Field Shirt

Cut and sewn in Los Angeles, these new tartan overshirts from Left Field are made from 100% cotton 12oz American tartan twill. That makes them very heavy; you can wear them as an overshirt if you like. It is also slim fit so if you plan on wearing it a bit more baggy, be sure to size up. Hixsept Opera Shirt

Selectism - hixsept-opera-shirt-01

Not had enough of floral patterns? Of course you haven’t. And if you have, you read too many blogs (including this one). It’s one of those trends that hasn’t found its way into real life yet. And by real life we mean it’s unlikely you’ll see a guy on public transport with one. Of course it’s already big in trend epicentres like fashion shows but they don’t count as real life (or as street style, but that’s a different argument). So you can buy this shirt with the knowledge that you won’t see anyone on the street with the same shirt as you. Unless you go to a fashion event – then you’ll probably run into someone with one. Archival Clothing Rugby Shirt

AC Shirt 1 Archival Clothing Rugby Shirt

It’s hard not to feel weary of rugby shirts. The skin tight numbers currently on show at the World Cup aren’t really our thing and as much as we like the old school variety they instantly make us think of braying Hooray Henrys swigging pints at the student union bar. However, we’ll set our prejudices aside, especially when it comes to Archival Clothing who rarely put a foot wrong. This 10 ounce cotton knitted jersey is produced in Oregon by Columbiaknit. Soft but tough enough to withstand the most violent of scrums, we might just have to rethink our view on this old classic.

post overalls shirt 011 Post Overalls Engineer Shirt

The ever reliable Post Overalls bring us this fantastic Calico print number. A rich shade of red that makes this stand out from the crowd, it’s nice to see a bit of bold colour in an increasingly indigo world. Contrast stitching is a trademark Post Overalls move and works especially well on this vibrant shirt. 100% cotton, Made in the USA, this gets our seal of approval.

Workers (Japan) CPO Shirt

Workers (Japan) CPO Shirt

The CPO is the king of the shirt/jacket hybrid and if anyone can offer a solid take on this standard it’s Japan’s Workers. This one leans more towards the jacket with the two front slant pockets and wider body, plenty of room for layering on colder days. Runs of each item are limited so grab this while you can.

Garbstore SA Mechanic Shirt

Selectism - garbstore-sa-mechanic-shirt-01

Stop the presses, hold the phones, tell your boss to shut up, we’ve got something important to tell you. Drumroll please…..we’ve found a chambray shirt worthy of recommending. Big news, we know. After the great chambray invasion we were left a little overwhelmed by the sheer amount of chambray available, so we avoided it altogether. Trust the Garbstore to pull us back in like a Godfather quote. Don’t buy the large though, we haven’t bought one for ourselves yet. (Garbstore)

One Nine Zero Six Work Shirt

One Nine Zero Six Work Shirt

We’ve raved about One Nine Zero Six in previous posts and we’re not backing down. These guys are making some seriously covetable modern menswear, a sharp eye for quality and cut they keep things deceptively simple. Lo-key detailing is their strength, this heavy cotton work shirt a prime example. Made in England it features a military style chest pocket, stitched side gusset detail – the open, curved front giving it a pullover feel that sets it apart from your average casual shirt. CHCM has them.
