John Lobb have paid respect to their patron saint, Saint Crépin, the only way they know how: making a shoe. A captoe oxford on the 8000 last, it’s made using their ‘prestige process’, something that involves all sorts of wheeled welts, tapered heels, hand sculptured waists and other old school techniques. It’ll be released on October 25th which is, coincidentally, Saint Crépin day.

Finally, a #menswear boot Jay-Z would approve of. And, looking at the price, one only the likes of Jay-Z could afford. If your pockets are lined with gold then the £715 price tag won’t bother you. If, on the off chance, your pockets are lined with lint then you’ll just have to stare admiringly at this, like the rest of us. Either way it is a handsome boot. (Oki-Ni)

Two of the most splendiferous, blogtastical brands of recent times have teamed up together to create the sort of things menswear bloggers go to bed dreaming of. They’ve created several boots and brogues that mix Grenson’s shoemaker skills with Barbour’s waxed goodness. And our undying love for French cinema means we were always bound to post up this loafer from Narrative. We also like the fact that’s it’s available in baby calf leather and a Kudu variety (the leather’s from Guidi & Rosellini), and feels softer than a newborn baby and will age like the offspring of two supermodels.

Mr. Hare’s Robeson grain patent leather shoe is something unique. We’ve always liked a solid, classic shoe. We’re not adamantly against the multicoloured sole versions that are hot on the streets right now, but there’s a lot to be said for a shoe that can be worn in the presence of your parents. And if you’re gonna get a solid shoe, then you have to spend a little coin. So, please, do an Usher like U-Turn if you’re about to ask ‘but where can I get it for cheap?’. Japanese label Omnigod continue to churn out covetable items with such consistency that we wonder if they have access to some sort of magic bottomless style well and/or have made a pact with Satan. Either way we find ourselves impressed with just about every element of their collection. Take these shoes for example, a collaboration with Paraboot, a French company who have been making walking footwear for nearly a century. The kind of moc toe, goodyear welted goodness we can get on board with. This smarter take on the workboot/shoe hybrid is a thing of beauty.
