Our admiration for Mr Matsuda’s work at Yuketen is no secret. A label that seems to get it right time after time, this offering over at Coggles is another in a long line of satisfyingly chunky shoes. The Country Ranger deck shoe is a substantial pice of footwear. Crepe sole, leather laces, two tone suede and all contructed using handmade moccasin techniques. YSL adds a camo spin to the sole of their footwear for Autumn Winter 2011. It is an easy touch that adds just a dash of color(s) to their Teddy boot and Lug Sole laceups.. The uppers come in black or brown and pull inspiration from those 60’s military boots. Easy on the eyes.

While it’s been a tough week for Clarks lover Vybz Kartel – he’ll be exchanging Clarks for cigarettes if convicted – but he should look on the bright side, his favourite shoe company has done a great collab! We’re sure that’s all the good news he needs right now. Clarks and Beams have created an exact replica of the original desert boot, making it in an orange so sharp it’ll slice a coconut. (End)

The red brick sole (or orange as they say it) on the Armando Carbral grained leather black shoes look damn solid in photos. The grain leather is the winner here. Crisp looking and ready to wear. Wrong Weather has them. Italian made.

Those purveyors of elegance and excellence E. Tautz have collaborated with another elegance specialist in John Lobb. Made for Wallpaper’s ‘Handmade’ issue, it’s one of those collaborations we’re surprised hasn’t been made earlier. Costing £795, they’re available from the John Lobb store on 88 Jermyn Street. They also come with specially made shoe trees – and considering the price, they bloody well should do.

We love a good derby. We can’t help it, it’s the granddad in us. The derby wasn’t picked up to the same extent as the brogue, so you can wear these without worrying about looking like you’ve dressed by the internet. Despite sounding like the name for a new type of Pepsi, G Zero is the new line from Grenson. They started out with a basic remit: creating the best quality shoe they could make.
