Obermeyer pushes the envelope for the 2011-2012 season, unveiling new innovations and a most cohesive and feature-packed collection of outerwear and essentials. The collection the big trends in ski wear for next season, including retro-chic sweaters, color blocking in lightweight shells and vibrant color combination. Showing at Aspen Fashion Week, Obermeyer’s runway show provided full preview of the 2011-2012 line.

“Haute Couture Hits the Slopes.”

Rossignol by JC de Castelbajac debuted at Aspen Fashion Week. The line combines cutting edge technology – pulled from Rossignol’s ten years in the apparel business and 104 years in ski – and JCDC’s trademark sense of fun. The men’s line finds the designer using technical wool and advanced printed fabrics in garments that are all about adventure and exploration. Brush painted camouflage and and helicopter instrument panel prints are indicative of the them. Additionally, JCDC employs bold plaids and waterproof corduroy.

The line is set to hit the mountain for the 2011/2012 ski season.

A yearly fall tradition in my family is going to check out the new Warren Miller flick. This year marks the 60th anniversary of Miller’s films, with the latest narrated by Jonny Mosley. The movies serve to charge us up about the season, and more importantly generate some solid ideas about ski travel.

Ski travel, as you’ll know or imagine, requires some specialized gear. Bags, when long haul flights are concerned, become of prime importance. Glissade knows this well. J. Lindeberg previews their forthcoming Ski Collection by showcasing select windstoppers, jackets, and accessories. The Ski Collection, which is expected to hit J. Lindeberg Flagship Stores and select limited number of retailers worldwide, was conceived by J. Lindeberg’s CEO Stefan Engstrom and former North Face design director, Fredrik Dhal, who is now head of J. Lindeberg Ski. Expect high end materials running the gamut from Swiss RIRI zippers, Dermizax stormproof fabrics, and much more.

Men’s Vogue teamed with Moncler on this Austin ski jacket and its all for a good cause – Donor’s Choose. “DonorsChoose.org is a United States based nonprofit organization that provides a way for people to donate directly to specific projects at public schools.” The Austin Jacket is based on the 1968 Moncler model made for trainers of the French Ski Team. 200 jackets will be made with the first five being auctioned off on eBay as of this writing.
