Started in 1932, Scott Hawaii was founded by Elmer and Jean Scott from Marblehead, MA. The Scott family comes from a very long line of shoe makers and “it didn’t take them long to establish a reputation within their community of Hawaii as manufacturers of quality footwear.” They first produced “plantation boots for the sugarcane and pineapple fields,” but due to WWII, “materials came in short supply” hence they started designing casual footwear. This soon led to the development of the “slippah.” The “Leahi” Slipper has a molded outsole and features a non-slip arch suppport, textured leather insole and a rolled leather strap that is lined with nylon to eliminate stretch. It is offered in tan, brown and black.

Unsurprisingly, we like feeling bawsy around the house. And, for us at least, the best way to do that is by wearing some bawse-like slippers. Actually slippers isn’t grand enough a name – we prefer the term ‘house shoes’. Our only problem with these is that we can’t walk down the street in them. Maybe someone should get on the blower to Birkenstock and tell them they’re missing a trick? (
