We chased this one down after Mr. Day teased them on his column. The new range of sneakers from Generic Surplus for the Spring/Summer 2012 N. Hoolywood menswear collection are splatter-approved. “Embodying the season theme “Title Back” with it’s upper construction and vulcanized sole, the shoe displays a particular attention to small details with its thick cushioned insole and application of wax-treatment on the laces.”

Available in grey and purple/blue – we’ll take both. These work. Available only through N. Hoolywood retailers (good luck).

Veja meet French Trotters once again with a selection of men’s footwear. We previewed the collection a while back and this addition of a black hi-top is a welcome one. Veja don’t bang on too much about their eco credentials but it’s worth noting that each pair is made with the environment and the workers who produce them in mind. “The leather used has been tanned naturally using acacia extracts. The soles are made of wild rubber originating from the Amazonian rainforest. ” Take a look below for a little background into this time heavy process. Polished and waxed leather with a contrast tan stripe running up the back, these are sure to age perfectly. Find them here.

RFW, formerly Rhythm Footwear, returns with a wide spread of sneakers for Spring/Summer 2012. I’m caught up on two models under the name Sandwich Hi Standard. I think it’s the play on the vulcanization and the overlap on paneling found on the upper. Super clean and well done.

nonnative offers some interesting footwear for Spring/Summer. Shoe Buff tells us “The brand brings ten new models in which six of them come with a Gore-Tex interior in collaboration with Regal ; Dweller Shoes Wing-Tip, Deck Shoe, Loafer, Plain Toe and Cap Toe.”

The more beach friendly espadrilles might win round those who still find this particular style of shoe objectionable, the slightly wider fit make them appear more moccasin like, espcially invarious shades of suede. A nice selection ranging from smart to run-around.

A rather smart pair of sneakers/hi-tops/trainers from Veja’s Indigenous collection. We wanted to avoid calling them smart casual but that’s pretty much a spot on description. The camel colour is what sold us on these, making them feel more like a pair of suede shoes then something you’d exercise in. French Truckers give us the lo-down. Veja’s products are 100% organic…

Coming this Februrary 2012 from agnes b. is their new sneaker collaboration with the classic Asian line, Feiyue. As Highsnob reports, the sneakers will retail for $66 and come in a mix of canvas and suede uppers against two colorways. Look for them stateside at agnes b in early 2012.

ONIA moves from the water onto the shore with their Montrose shoe offering. They call it a hybrid, fusing the sole of a flip-flop with ONIA’s fast drying upper nylon/cotton fabric. The sole features an espadrille-like stitching pattern and that low “barefoot appealing” profile. Choose from multiple colors as well. The Montrose should land in doors carrying ONIA’s swimline. Take a look and decide for yourself.

This summer, Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nimes delivered a well received hand dyed indigo Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Low. The sold out of the short run in no time. We heard talk that they would be back again in high-top form and here they are. As Highsnobiety tells us, “50 pairs of the shoes were dyed by the Manabe family from Okoyama – owners of Japanese denim label Momotaro and the Rampuya dyeing factory. The shoes, each of which is unique and hand-numbered, will be available November 26th at Tenue de Nimes.”

Some people queue for Jordan III’s, we camped outside of Goodhood waiting for this collab. We didn’t actually do that but we would have, the collaboration is that nice. One of our favourite picks are these Chucks with a fur lining. Or as T-Pain would say, Chucks with the furrr (with the furrr!). Our only issue is that these don’t come in our size. (Goodhood)

And we’re continuing our Japanese love fest with these Attachment trainers. Or sneakers if you’re fancy (or American). If you’re positive you’ll say this are a fresh update on a classic. If you’re negative you’ll call it Chucks with a zip. We quite like them, so we’re going with the fresh update sentence. As with most Japan based items, you’ll have to get your proxy on. (Mindtrive)
