Though we’re partial to Ronnie Fieg’s leather versions, there is no denying that John Varvatos’ talk on the Converse Star Player EV has appeal. In heavy twill, the Varvatos versions come in navy, white, gray, and red. The traditional Chevron logo appears in contrasting color and the rubber outsole and toe units are given a vintage look. Consider the Converse by John Varvatos Star Player just another great Spring option from a sneaker brand with undeniable heritage.

Having seen a few clothing mishaps up close, we know a thing or two about a poorly managed ‘brand extension’ – have you seen some traditional shoe companies attempts at trainers? No? Your eyes have been saved from some Saw 2 levels of monstrosity. So we were surprised as anyone when we saw Diemme’s first foray into casual footwear. If you’ve ever looked at a pair of CP’s and thought ‘yeah, these are cool, but I need chunkier eyelets’ this is the shoe for you. (Tres Bien)

You know Car shoe right? They make those shoes that are usually called all kinds of sprezzy but actually make you look like a sleazy Italian pick up merchant. Well they’ve done these trainers that are actually pretty good looking. As we’re sure you know, grey trainers pretty much go with every colour under the sun, so they make a nice change of pace from your fancy shoes. (Matches)

We’re still out here in these streets, finding more spring sneakers than you shake a shoelace at (although why you’d want to shake a shoelace is anyone’s guess). These Gourmet Uno’s are as simple as a pair of Gourmets will get and the colour’s a no-brainer for spring weather. (Crooked Tongues)
