Designed for Johannas Hansen in the early 1970s, Hans Wegner’s CH103 sofa has been resurrected by Carl Hansen & Son. The reproduction uses the same steel frame and leather upholstery. If the idea of a black leather sofa scares you, white and brown are also options. (Via Retro to Go)

Litton Furniture by Sir Terrence Conran

conran litton furniture front Litton Furniture by Sir Terrence Conran

Born in 1962 in Dorset, Litton Furniture was purchased by the venerable Sir Terrence Conran in 2007. Together with furniture maker Sean Sutcliffe, Conran’s intent is to use Litton as a spring board to restate the grand English furniture making tradition. The stylings are contemporary, and Conran’s portion of the collection is simple and based on clean lines. Tables, sofas and the Mon Oncle Chair (seen above) are among the designs available. Litton, aside from its lofty ambitions to uplift British furniture making, only uses local woods quelled from sustainable sources.
